I know I am not the age group intended for this book but I loved it anyway. And my preteen self would have loved it too. Agatha lives in London with her dad and solves crimes with the help of her two best friends and a secret society. She gets into some sticky situations. Thanks to her photographic memory and knack for solving ciphers she keeps London safer for everyone. Can’t wait to read book #3.

Im a big fan of this series. Agatha is exactly the kind of protagonist you want to cheer for. Shes inquisitive, daring and flawed. Her friends are equally as interesting and really add to the overall feel of the story.

Murder at the Museum transports readers to the streets of and tunnels beneath London. Its a delightful mystery that may be a little predictable for adults but is on par for intended readers. Theres one more book in the series, and I cant wait to find out where author Lena Jones takes Agatha next.

Audio Murder at the Museum narrated by Aspen Reiss

Here is how our book-crazy 10-year old reviewed this book, she absolutely loves this series and I suppose it is highly recommended for readers around her age – apparently there is lots to think about!!

This book is about a teenage girl who lives in Hyde park with her father and cat..
She has two friends and gets stuck in a mystery with them
I would recommend this book to people who love mysteries and people who want something to think about

Agatha Oddly is set to become the youngest member of the Gatekeepers Guild, but before that, shes got a mystery to solve! Theres been a murder at the British Museum and, although the police are investigating, Agatha suspects that theyre missing a wider plot going on below London a plot involving a disused Tube station, a huge fireworks display, and five thousand tonnes of gold bullion The mystery in this book for me was predictable and slightly weak. I strongly believe for this type of genre if you’re only going to introduce one new character who could viably be the villain, some red herrings should be thrown in to make the readers pause and think! Nonetheless, there was no foreshadowing to the villains motivations prior to the big reveal but Agatha does make some progress on finding out what happened to her mother. I did enjoy MURDER AT THE MUSEUM mostly for the quirky antics and adventure around London. It was a quick read but the characters and the mystery plot could use some polish. A good 4 read
