One More Round

Alice Clayton is back with the story I didn’t know I needed, but was everything I wanted and so much more. I can’t say how much I loved this story. I LOVED IT, I tell you!!!! This book is the book fans of Pink Nightie Girl and Wallbanger will go nuts for. Rightfully so. You will understand when you finish devouring it. I’m sure I’m not alone in wanting more of these two and One More Round is what happens after the Happy Ever After. Genius, pure genius!! Be prepared for a roller coaster ride of emotions as you catch up with familiar characters, locations and the fun and sass that only Simon and Caroline can bring to a story. Yes Clive also makes an appearance. How could he not. No spoilers here. You NEED to read this spoiler free. But that said, have tissues ready. That’s all I will say. One More Round was like meeting up with old friends after far too long apart, and immediately falling back into the familiar without a break in stride. Alice Clayton, if you see this… Welcome back. You’ve been missed.

If you loved Simon and Caroline in Alice Clayton\’s Wallbanger, you will love this novella as we get to revisit the couple several years later. If you haven\’t read Wallbanger, go NOW and read it! You will not regret it! Simon and Caroline are still madly in love. Still have their wonderful jobs, wonderful house and wonderful friends. The only thing missing are the kids they hoped to have by this time in their lives. They have been through a lot of heartache losing four previous pregnancies. It just seems that maybe kids are not in the cards for these two. When Caroline finds out that she is expecting again, she is afraid to tell anyone especially since she just started doing a TV segment on interior design. As Simon and Caroline navigate through this pregnancy, many new surprises keep popping up. In the end it will take a village to get to their happy ending and the family that they have always dreamed up. I loved this story. You will go through the heartache of loss but also the joy of birth. It was fun watching these two get the one thing they have wanted for so long……a family!

I didn\’t realize I missed Caroline and Simon so much until I began reading this little novella, and memories of Wallbanger started popping into my head. What a \”courtship\” that pair had as their romance developed, swoon. Alice Clayton revisits those feelings, and more in this newest update in the lives of our now happily married couple. They have the house, their careers, good friends, etc. The only thing missing is a family however, not from a lack of trying. Caroline has suffered from five miscarriages, more than enough to realize maybe they need to stop trying. I recommend everyone read Ms. Clinton\’s One More Round to find out what happens when two fan favorites discover themselves making such a momentous decision.

I so often wondered what happened to Alice Clayton and would often look for books from her? When I found this novella about one of my all time favorite book couples I was ecstatic!! ? I love Simon and Caroline and could not wait to download and find out what was going on in their world? I remembered how their story ended with Clive and the pregnancy test therefore I figured kids would be involved. But no such luck initially.. After a few devastating attempts, I was so happy that they we’re finally blessed with multiple babies, just bummed that one wasn’t a little girl with his sapphire blue eyes. ☹️

Loved this little view into Clive’s family! Simon and Caroline are we here I started my journey and it always felt alittle u finished henceforth why I was so excited about this little read. Alice managed to bring the love, laughs, tears , smiles in less than 100 pages making me sooo happy I actually just did a reread about 2 months ago. What a finish to this series, now I need a little music and a drink!
