This book was SO GOOD!!!!!! As a plus size woman, it was amazing to see myself represented in a romance novel in a relatable way. I often feel that when I pick up a book featuring a fat heroine I don’t relate to her journey and her view of herself. It’s always her thinking she looks bad to then accepting herself because a man loves her. In this book I felt seen as someone who is usually very confident in their appearance but does harbor some inner insecurities. The dialogue is witty, the characters are amazing, and I died when they visited my favorite “park” in LA!!!! I’m recommending this to my everyone I know and can’t wait till the author publishes a second book.

So I love/hated this book. Hated: #1) The writing when it was like fake news articles or group chats or other media stuffs. I\’d have rather stayed with the lead. #2) The over stressful bachelor like drama. This is a preference thing, if you like the drama of the bachelor this is for you. If you are not that person, I legit threw my kindle on the bed but honestly, it felt realistic. Loved: #1) The main character and her being both fat and okay with it. Like it felt truthful #2) The plot twists. There was one that legit got me. #3) The writing from inside the main character, it was fun and chatty. Overall I liked it, if it didn\’t do so much newsy stuff I would have loved it.

Audiobook One to Watch by Kate Stayman-London
I know I\’ve said this before but I\’ve never phrased better: BEST BOOK EVER! My fave all-time book is Pride and Prejudice, but this book is the second closest. I give it a 6/5.0 rating because I\’ve never felt so connected to a modern-day romance. While other books have given me the romance, the spectacular plot and all the laughs you can get, this ONE gave me something I didn\’t have before: an emotional connection to it. It was because of the emotional journey of the main character. I In other books when you read you escape to wherever the fantasy takes but in this ONE I felt like I\’m emotionally and maybe physically with the character as she goes on her experiences. Instead of picturing them, I am feeling them. This is the first I\’ve ever read that has me really cry. As a reader, I got to understand some of the things I didn\’t get before like the body image issues that made her second guess everything, the different spectrums of sexuality, the bullying and trolling some people get just because they\’re famous, and lastly that simply put some are absolutely trash. I liked the journey that this book took me on and I can simply it was unforgettable. I recommend this book to all lovers of ABC\’s The Bachelor and The Bachelorette, lovers of showbiz, lovers of politically correct books or books that support racial equality and sexual spectrums, etc.. Basically this is a book for EVERYONE. I feel like this book served to remind me that this is how the last of the Bachelorette should\’ve gone and then maybe Big Mike get selected as the Bachelor of S24 rather than Peter. Let\’s be honest ABC only cast a black guy after the Black lives matter movement which just shows how people only show support when they\’re being called into question. Thank you DEAR AUTHOR for showing how certain should\’ve gone in the past year rather how they are now.

Audio One to Watch narrated by Kristen Sieh
I really enjoyed this book. As someone who watches the bachelor/bachelorette, this was a refreshing take on the show. I loved Bea\’s character. As someone who is plus sized herself, I can see why she doubted these men being attracted to her. I absolutely adored a few of her men (won\’t go into the because spoilers). My only gripe about the book was i felt the ending was a bit rushed. I would have liked Bea to not have been as forgiving to a certain someone. She was owed more than his flimsy excuse for leaving. Overall, I give the book 4 stars. I look forward to reading more books from this author.

Read this on a recommendation from a podcast I listen to. They loved it but it’s just not for me I guess. I felt like love connections were made too quickly without much basis and I found the main character to be whiny and self deprecating to the point of being just plain obnoxious. I understand that overcoming her unhealthy self image was a part of the narrative but MY GOD if she didn’t make every spoken line and inner thought revolve around her issues with her weight. I could hardly get through it. On the plus side, the overall message of the book was fantastic! I did appreciate the diversity of the characters, although at times it felt forced. Almost like a checklist was being made to make sure everyone felt included. It didn’t feel natural. That being said, I do have some friends that really enjoyed this book. Not being a fan of the bachelor or reality tv in general may have been some of my issue here but I don’t think that should have mattered if I was reading a great book.
