Dear Gods help me, this book gave me chills, tears, and laughter. No spoilers! But both Jane and Jaymin give you all the answers you have been wanting and then some. I will say the ending brought me to tears from pure joy. There are turns in the book that caught me off guard but they make sense of everything that has been happening up until then. The storyline flows nicely and action sequences were superbly written.

I love these books! I want the story to go on! Willa is funny, charming and endearing! The family aspect here is so sweet. Please write more about this family, their new world and what new joys and tribulations twinning will bring them! Haha!

Audiobook Pain (Curse of the Gods #5) by Jane Washington Jaymin Eve
These books have been epic up until this last one. It was a bit of an anticlimactic ending. And there were some seriously anticipated sex scenes that fell totally flat, and don’t get me wrong, Jane Washington is hands down my girl and one of my favorite authors, but I could tell she wrote them. It’s notoriously known she does not like to write sex scenes and it shows. I really feel she leaves routinely with blue balls. The ending and the big fight? It was barely there. Everything else was the same. Same enjoyable characters and humor. Another reviewer did say they hated how suddenly Willa lost all her clumsiness – and I did miss that too – but the authors did suggest that her powers finally balanced out which makes sense for the change in character. Anyway – it’s wrapped up and done, but I couldn’t give it 5 stars. I think it was rushed and that’s a bummer. Otherwise, at least we got a happy ending!

Audio Pain (Curse of the Gods #5) narrated by Vanessa Moyen
I like this series of books but did not care for this one. The others made me laugh – not this one. The others had amusing things happen in the midst of all the chaos – not this one. The story line didn’t have as much substance to it. This one was all about preparing to fight Staviti. I found my attention drifting but didn’t care to rewind and see what I missed. Regarding the performance, I rated it 2 stars because of the way the narrator makes the Abcurses sound. She tries to lower her voice too much and they end up sounding gruff. They don’t sound like good looking, sexy, all male hunks of gods. It would be better if she left her voice normal so the reader could imagine their voices for herself.

Ending felt very rushed and the characters became overly awkward. There was a huge build to this fight scene and it fell short.
