This book is about a young woman who finds herself drawn to the local ruffians. These guys ride motorcycles and have a “club,” but this is not a good depiction of the 1%er lifestyle. It’s some version of it based on the author’s imagination. It’s LOL ridiculous.
Our main character, Beth, is pathetic. Her love interest “Razor,” isn’t appealing in the least. I don’t mind a pathetic heroine if we have a softening of the male character and a sweet courtship. Nope. This guy walks all over her. He disrespects her in every way imaginable.
What I truly disliked about the book was the constant sex parties. The women in the club have to have sex with a certain number of the top members to get approval to become members. They also get tattoos of the dates that it happened. There are no mention of “old ladies” or any classic MC traditions. The sex scenes were raunchy and unrealistic. I am truly baffled by the glowing reviews.

Razer\’s Ride audiobook in series Last Riders
This is a romance novel that uses some very dark story lines. I don’t have a problem with that, its not what I didn’t like about the book, but I have tried several books from this author and the stories often included rape and childhood abuse. I think that should be mentioned.
Some spoilers contained below.
The heroine is Beth. She has had a really rough life and I can’t tell you how much I would like her to have found a better person that the so called hero of the book Razer. Beth catches Razer’s eye and for some reason, even though he has a wide variety of woman available as part of this motorcycle club, he decides to hit on Beth (who is very obviously shy and lives a very different life). When is becomes obvious she is not an immediate easy lay, instead of being honest and open with her, he lets her walk into a situation that hurts her badly.
Time passes. For some reason Razer decides he wants another chance with Beth. He still really knows nothing about her and slept with every available woman as that time passed but the reader is expected to believe he has grown some feelings. Beth gives him another chance even though he tells her straight out at that point no woman is going to have sole rights to his body. He does decide he can hold off being with other woman for at least a little while so I guess that is enough for Beth to decide to hand over her virginity.
The book continues. Poor Beth is not treated well and is expected to bed over backwards making this semi-relationship work in gratitude that he has, at least temporarily, stopped sleeping with all the other woman.
Again Beth is hurt. However, this time Razer is determined to get her back because he loves her, or we as readers are supposed to believe. He does not know her. He never tried to find out much about her and their whole relationship has been based around him and his lifestyle. Beth decides she has had enough and won’t go back to him. What does a good hero do then? In this case, kidnapping is the answer and basically forcing himself on her until she gives in. I end up feeling like the poor heroine is drug back into her hell, rather than getting a happily ever after.
I can like a bad boy hero. I can get behind a changed character; it can make them more complex and human. This is not what is happening here. I find absolutely no reason to like the hero and I only pity the heroine. There are a couple of hot sex scenes so I gave it 2 stars.

Audiobook Razer\’s Ride by Jamie Begley
Alright this book was something. The MC life that Im used to reading about wasnt much a focus and a lot different. They ran a different type of club. I liked the men. I had like/hate feelings towards Razer due to his inability to give Beth what she needed and his view of woman. To each his own but my gosh they hurt Beth so many times throughout the book. It made my heart hurt. Beth is not your strong, take no crap, female. Shes a bit of a pushover. Shes sweet and understanding and forgiving. She wants to do the right thing and puts others first all the time. There were a few moments in the book that I was about to call it quits had Razer messed up and hurt her like I thought was happening. I was putting the book down and away but it turned out ok. Beths new crazy, insane friends were great. Crazy, scary but great because they stood up for her!! If you are wanting an alpha male who is possessive of his girl and only sees/wants her and she is a strong, stand up for herself type, this is not a book for you. Im glad I finished it. The writing was good. I may read the next book one day.

Audio Razer\’s Ride narrated by Elizabeth Hart
Where do I begin! H-O-T!! If your looking for a hot badass biker then Razer is your guy. At first I was unsure how I felt about him. I wasn’t sure what he was doing. I didn’t know if he really wanted Beth or was trying to get someone outside his norm to change things up a bit. In the beginning, that might have been it because I don’t think he realized she wasn’t going to give it up like all the others would. As the saying goes, you always want what you can’t have. He definitely was frustrated at how he had to work for it. When they found those videos, he definitely had a wake up call. There is hearing about a persons past and then there is getting a front row seat to the trauma. Now for the good stuff Lets talk about The Last Riders. I was shocked reading this because while I’ve known about Old Lady’s and the Club Hangarounds, I never expected what I read. They had a very open club and they all slept together (not meaning M/M or F/F)! The girls slept with all of the guys and vice versa. They welcomed anyone to join in or just watch. I definitely wasn’t expecting that and while it was a little awkward at first, in the end it made the story even better! I liked that they allowed the girls to be members as well. Of course they had to get a vote from all the Founding Members. One can guess what they had to do to get that vote. To sum it up, I loved this story. It wasn’t just a love story about two people. Begley introduced all the characters in their lives and made you want to continue on in the series because you wanted to see what happened with the rest of them.

There’s no getting away from it being really badly written, there are also many, many, many cringe worthy and unbelievable moments and you do need to suspend belief that Beth is a good girl, a very religious good girl, who can put up with Razor’s orgie, man slut ways. But I still enjoyed this. The poor writing quality and cheating, idiot of a hero means I can understand why some readers give it 1 star, on the other hand because I like angst in my reads, so I can also underswhy some give it 4 stars.
The negatives first so you’re warned up front. There’s grammatical errors galore, punctuation problems, typos, all so bad some sentences don’t make sense. There are random big words thrown in that didn’t mean what the author clearly thought they did. The vocabulary is basic and the characters speak too ‘properly’. More combing of verbs to ‘I’m, we’re and we’ve’, was needed to make them less robotic sounding.
I absolutely hated the cringe worthy moments, of which there were many. Like when Razer takes Beth’s virginity. It was horrible, all that kitty this and kitty that. It was completely unbelievable that the good girl Beth would give Razer a BJ on the first date and just days after seeing another woman. It was unbelievable she would have anything to do with him after that or after he brings her to the orgi at the clubhouse, and that’s what they were, orgies. I don’t actually mind those scenes, like I said I like angst in my reads and I read a lot of MC books, so that’s not a problem. But Beth, the good girl’s, reactions to them were not believable. Like when she walks away but gets the courage to go back, only to find Razor in bed with multiple other women and men. Instead telling him he’s a pig and it’s over, she actually continues on to be with him!? Just not believable. Hated that she had no backbone when she sees him with Bliss’s after she gets out of hospital. She stands there practically begging him to be with her. I mean I get the author was going for Beth being such a good person, and a good Christian, that she forgives Evie etc, but she came across as too weak.
I did however love that she finally stands up for herself and refuses Razer and Evie when they try to approach her later. All the stupid ass names the other club women were called though, I just can’t even start with how bad that is. And I hated the strip club scene when all the club members start explaining in detail to the other club members why they hurt Beth, O.M.G my head hurt with that nonsense! Characters taking weren’t identified etc. My biggest issue was that the author couldn’t seem to decide how she wanted these characters to be, or what their story would to be! Is this –
A) A straight forward romance, the bad boy biker falling in love with the good Christian girl and stops his sleeping around, to live happy ever after with the good girl. OR is it
B) A broken love story, were the good religious girl gets her heart broken by the bad boy biker, leaves him forever, while he continues his wild ways. OR is it –
C) An alternate love story, the good girl Beth, is happy to be corrupted into having sex with not only Razer but also all the other men in the mc, and she enjoys it. While Razer, also has sex with other women. While both Razer and Beth have more love for each other than any of the others they sleep with. A little time to polish both the problems with the writing and the story was needed.
Now for the Positives- (finally right?!) The story is actually good. I enjoyed this book, even if it did annoy me at times. I really liked the characters, all of the guys and women. And loved Beth, despite the weak moments stated above. The reader can really feel Beth’s heartbreak, her sadness and strength after what her parents did to her and what Razor did to her. I felt so sad for her and for Lily. All the characters have enough depth to make them distinct and likeable. The scene setting is enjoyable, I could picture the first time Beth sees the mc men at the store, the swimming scene etc. I really felt the closeness between Beth and her sister Lily, it was really nice. Even the new friendships between the crazy women in the other club were good etc.
Not everyone is going to be able to get over the poor writing quality here and other issues but it’s 3 star rating from me. I would have read the next books in the series, except that they are about 2.99 each, which given this books problems, I would not be willing to pay. If I do read them, I’ll leave an honest review as always.
