It’s highly ironic to see Jack Reacher suffering when he is trying to move away from the war zone. The more he tries to move away from everything the troubles in the surroundings just keep on coming towards him. A serial killer has brought havoc in the entire country and there is no stopping. Police and the investigating departments have no lead which proves that he is an expert in taking lives.
A few of the members of the crime investigating department hint towards the chance that the criminal is somehow linked to the department. While investigating all the recent members of the squad and then analyzing different people in the agency the department sets its eyes on the one who was once a part of all this.

The story later gets fit perfectly because all of the women who have been killed had some connection with Jack in the past. The department announces that it is Jack who has gone rogue and is erasing the past contacts. Luckily Jack has some contacts here and there because of which he gets the news of his arrest order quickly.
Running is not Jack’s game, we have witnessed what he is capable of in Tripwire and Running Blind but this time he runs not because of fear but for a deep look at the case. Patterns are studied and links are analyzed by Jack who happens to be an expert in all of this. Lee Child shows us how Jack takes the war back to the enemies who have made another unsuccessful attempt of bringing him down. This was the last part narrated by Johnathan McClain and no doubt the fans will remember his voice for a long time.
