Shame on Me (Fool Me Once #2) by Tara Sivec Published: May 6, 2014 Montlake Romance I purchased this book on Amazon. Tara Sivec is a USA Today best-selling author, wife, mother, chauffeur, maid, short-order cook, baby-sitter, and sarcasm expert. She lives in Ohio with her husband and two children and looks forward to the day when all three of them become adults and move out. I need to put a stop to this before it turns into all-out old-lady anarchy. Paige is used to being looked at and treated as an object. Now, she wants to be taken seriously. Be seen as more than a pretty face. So Paige decides she is going to take matters into her own hands. This series is straight fire!!! There is so much wit, sass, charm, action, and strong females I really cant even begin to scream about it all. I love the female leads in this series. They are all such perfectly flawed humans, with such a sweet vulnerability and a fiery heart. You cant help but fall in love. The male leads are the opposite of rat bastards, and its refreshing. There were several hilarious scenes in this book. I dont know how Tara does it. But this was absolute perfection!

After reading Shame on You and meeting Kennedy, Paige and Lorelei, I knew that I had to continue on and read the next book in this series. The three ladies of Fool Me Once Investigations have me wanting to see what they get up to next. Paige is a famous model. She left her ex after finding out that he spent all of their money gambling. She stopped modeling and is now working with her best friends at Fool Me Once Investigations. Her current job has her trying to catch a cheating husband, Matt. All she has to do is get Matt to fall for her. It\’s not hard for her either because he\’s gorgeous too. The more she talks to him things become clearer that he\’s not cheating on his wife. His wife is actually the one who is trying to take him for all of his money and trying to set him up. Quickly, Paige decides to switch sides and help Matt instead. There\’s also something starting between them that she would like to explore. But it\’s not that easy. They already have a contract with Matt\’s wife and then her ex spills the beans about where she works. Can she help Matt and possibly win his heart in the process? Again, this was on the shorter side in number of pages, but I enjoyed all of it. Tara Sivec had me laughing and swooning over Matt. Matt\’s father and Paige\’s mother also provided their own comedic relief and Paige\’s mother\’s \”Golden Girl\” friends. Another entertaining read that has me looking forward to reading the next book in this series.

Audiobook Shame on Me (Fool Me Once #2) by Tara Sivec
Paige might have been a beauty, but she also knew how to kick @ss. Things werent going her way lately with a drop kick of an ex husband and a crazy mother, but her friends at Fool Me Once Investigations were on her side. She is on a case that leads to more than she expected. Matt was not the cheater his wife claimed him to be, and Paiges gut instinct is telling her to help him instead of the lying wife. Add to the mix, her own cheating, gambling ex, and we have a big adventure that Paige takes the lead on. I added the audio, and as much as I enjoyed this book, so far my favorite is Kennedy in book 1. I still have to read / listen to Loreleis tale. I think she is going to give Kennedy a run for her money in the sarcastic lines when dealing with Dallas. Great rom-coms.

Audio Shame on Me (Fool Me Once #2) narrated by Amy McFadden
I don\’t know who started the concept of Trilogies, but it is really a standard of the romance book industry. This is no exception and only needs 3 short reviews so all are the same. The concept is that three friends, who have all had failed relationships with cheating, stealing or lying men; are thrown together in a business venture. In book one \’Shame on You\’ , \’Kennedy O\’Brien is ex-Army back from Afghanistan who finds her husband cheating on her and starts a detective/cheating spouse/bounty hunter agency called of course \’Fool Me Once Invesigations\’. Joined by her two best friends, Paige McCarty, whose gambling addicted husband used her and broke her nearly million dollar modeling \’bank\’ and Lorelei Warner , whose husband decided he was gay; they juggle their careers of modeling and the law while helping Kennedy, \’the muscle\’ get the business started. They all naturally have trust issues with men. In \’Shame on You Kennedy has problems with accepting her husband\’s \’best friend\’, Griffin Crawford, as her one and only. In book 2 \’Shame on Me\’, Paige the \’beauty\’, must come to terms with her Mr Right, Matt Russo, a supposed cheating husband, who she\’s trying to catch. In book 3, \’Shame on Him\’, Lorelei, the \’brains\’, a stuffy, organized lawyer type controlled by her rich lawyer parents must learn to live her own life and find out if there are any \’good ones\’ out there namely PI Dallas Osborne. There is of course a different mystery plot to each and the characters are well developed (one of the advantages of the trilogy format) by Tara Sivec. Only possible complaint is that at 138, 146, and 147 pages they are quick reads but could have been just a single book. I found all three stories humorous, hot and quite enjoyable reads with all the usual approach /avoidance conflicts in the \’dance of lovers\’ in romances. Shame they didn\’t have another partner for book 4.

I actually didn\’t have high hopes for this book, i didn\’t really like this character in the first book but when I\’ve bought a book, I have to read it too the end, regardless if i like it or not. I actually really enjoyed this book. I thought the main character was going to be shallow but actually i really identified with her and ended up rooting for her. This wasn\’t your typical girl falls in love with boy story, it had more depth to it. Yes it was sassy, yes it was sexy and yes it was very saucy. You can read this without reading the first book but you\’d be missing out on another great book by Tara Sivec. P.S only negative, i am now finding myself looking a geeky hunks in a way that i wouldn\’t normally!!
