Man this book. It was an emotional roller coaster. I’ve read it a few times and thought I had written a review but it wasn’t here. So….here goes. Woods and Della’s second book. It was a great story. Woods love for Della is all consuming and a whole lot possessive. He was borderline obsessed with keeping her safe. Which he kind of had a reason to be with his crazy ex and parents and Della having black out episodes. Della was able to discover things about her past with Braeden’s help. She was a great friend. As was Tripp. Della’s history was so sad and traumatic. To see her find out more about who she really was was great. It helped her overcome many obstacles with who she thought she was and could turn out to be. I loved watching her fight for Woods. Jace! Man Jace. I wish that didn’t have to happen. I know why it did because I’ve read this fantastic series multiple times but Jace’s fate was heartbreaking. Oh it killed me. I cried like a baby, for everyone. I loved the ending. The gas station. Love!! I really enjoyed Woods and Della’s journey. It was written well and the characters are all fantastic in this series.

Simple Perfection audiobook in series Rosemary Beach

I don’t know how I feel about this one. I loved their first book but I didn’t like how Woods changed to the overbearing/ super protective guy he was for the whole beginning of this book. But I guess it kind of made sense plot wise. It did have a lot of little (and a few big) unexpected twists. Della did grow and heal which was wonderful to see. The very end was sweet. But some of the things right before that (with Bethy) I don’t think I like that direction. But of course I have to continue the series now so it worked.

Audiobook Simple Perfection by Abbi Glines

Rating: 4.5 – 5 stars Wow. This book was a fantastic ending to Woods and Della\’s story. Abbi Glines was able to take a beautiful love story with characters I have grown to love and completely catch me by surprise with the twists and turns of the story. Just when I thought I knew where the story was going, something happened or was revealed that changed everything. Fans of this series will not be disappointed. The story picks up a few days after the end of Twisted Perfection with Woods dealing with the aftermath of his father\’s death. Della and Woods are very much together, but even though they no longer have his father to worry about, they have other obstacles in their way – Angelina, his mother, her demons. I\’ll be honest. I was a bit underwhelmed while reading the beginning of this book. First, let the record show that I am a huge fan of Woods. The man is perfect in my eyes. And in this book it was no different. But before I continue gushing over my love of him, I will say that I was annoyed with him in the beginning. He was so overprotective over Della that he seemed to smother her. His intentions were honorable and came from love, but it was a bit much. However, it was completely understandable – had he been any other way I would be criticizing him for not being the man Della needed. And Della, despite being their for Woods when he needed her, she was dependent and lacked self-confidence in herself. I wanted more for her, but like Woods, I understood why she was like this. This feeling of disappointment quickly turned to understanding as the story progressed. What I realized was that Abbi had a plan and there was a reason for both Woods and Della\’s behavior and attitude in the beginning. As the story progresses, Della and Woods make decisions that they believe are best for one another, the whole story started becoming clearer. It is no question that Woods loves Della. When he made a decision, he always considered how it would affect her. She was never far from his mind. And he not only loved her, but he wanted to help her heal. He listened when she needed space. He was always there for her. Again – perfection and there is nothing simple about it. In my eyes, Woods can do no wrong. And Della is his perfect match. I loved how Abbi gave us more to Della\’s story and was able to give her the strength she so desperately needed. Her friends, Tripp and Braden, were amazing and really helped her stand on her own two feet and fight for what she wanted. By the end of the book, I loved the woman she became. I think my favorite thing about this book was that the story was not stagnant and I was kept on my toes. Just when I thought I knew what was going to happen, Abbi threw me for a loop again and again. And some of these plot twists were shocking and extremely unexpected. This story had me going through various emotions – annoyance, irritation, happiness, sorrow and sadness to name a few. You will laugh, you will cry, you will swoon, you will scream. One final note…Abbi sets up the next few books in the Rosemary Beach series PERFECTLY. First, we get a little back story on Tripp, the man that refuses to stay in Rosemary Beach for reasons no one knows (psst – you will get a better idea while reading this book). All I will say is holy crap – what a shocker that was!! And then, we get a little bit more from the Grant – Nan – Harlow saga. Let me say I cannot wait for his book to come out next year! I love the way Abbi weaves her storylines throughout each book. It makes me hopelessly addicted to the characters. So although I am sad that this is the end of Woods and Della\’s story, I take solace in the fact that I will \”see\” them again in future books. I highly recommend you read this book and series. It has quickly become one of my favorites.

Audio Simple Perfection narrated by Jennifer Bronstein

2.5 stars. ** spoiler alert ** The conflict was the same old same old story, a girl ran off after she heard some bad thing she thought it was about her. A guy knew it later and tried to fix it. I don\’t agree with the way Braden made Woods stay away when they knew that what Della heard was a misunderstanding. Not to mention, they let Della think Woods had moved on. Judging from her personality it was 50/50 of fight or flight. I think the trauma she had been through most of her life wouldn\’t lift off that easily after she found out that she was adopted and didn\’t have the gene of being crazy. After Della came back to Woods, it started to get boring. I saw that there were pages left so I wait for something to happen. Even so still I didn\’t see what happen to Jace coming. Seriously, what was she thinking. After introducing us to Jace in Fallen too Far series and had him in almost every book I kind of felt like I was accustomed to him. The ending felt blant. Woods proposed at the gas station where they first met. I know it shouldn\’t be matter that it was at the gas station; the point was it was the place where they met, but still. Imagine the scenery of the gas station. I don\’t know if I would be more enjoy if I wasn\’t busy upset over what happened to Jace. I don\’t feel like this was Woods and Della\’s story. Because the author\’s attempt to introduce the next book of another Rosemary Beach series has robbed their thunder. But darn, did she really have to killed off Jace. Couldn\’t she find any other way? I enjoyed Grant and Harlow when I read Forever too Far. At least Glant made an appearance since the very fist book. I felt related to him in some way. But the author didn\’t make me like Bethy, she came off like a girl who did a lot of one night stands and it took Blaire to tell her to stop Jace treated her like a booty call. Now that I knew what was behind her story of why she was who she was, but it was kind of too late for that. And I didn\’t like Tripp. I hate myself for going to read that book.

Simple Perfection by Abbi Glines 4.5 stars!! \”She is my perfection. She holds my heart in her hands. When she hurts it brings me to my knees.\” I love an Abbi Glines book, you know what you are going to get and you know that it is going to be good and as usual Abbi Glines delivers with Simple Perfection. Woods, he is the epitome of a perfect gentleman and when he loves, he loves fierce! This comes through Abbi\’s writing crystal clear, there is nothing that Woods wouldn\’t do for Della. Woods was in a bad place at the end of Twisted Perfection as his father had just died. In Simple Perfection, he is dealing with the aftermath of his fathers death, his mothers unreasonable behaviour and his vile ex all while trying to keep the club running smoothly and while putting his own stamp on it. Despite everything that he is dealing with he still puts Della first, before everything. I must admit, sometimes he did come across as a bit \”too much\”, I was worried that this may cause Della to panic, but she seemed to be handling it all in her stride. \”You\’re my all-in, Della. I\’ll throw it all away for you. I just want you. I\’m all in, baby. This life with you, I\’m planning on us.\” Della, god I could have strangled her at times but she did grow in this book. She has a lot of internal demons to battle and she does struggle at times. She cannot really get a grip on the fact that Woods is unconditionally in love with her warts and all, she feels that she has become a burden to him, especially now that he is so busy and he is constantly looking out for her. I think that what she fails to realise at times is that they both need each other, they are good for each other and they are in fact soul mates. Will Woods manage to persuade her otherwise?? \”That girl in the photo was scared. Of her past and her future. She was scared to love you. That\’s not me. I\’m not scared anymore. My past is what made me who I am. My future…as long as I get to spend it with you, then I can\’t wait to live it. I\’m going to be okay, Woods. I\’m not going to…snap. I have a lot to tell you.\” There are a lot of surprises in this book and Abbi Glines \”did go there\” in this book. I was really surprised when that happened and I can see why she has done it but it didn\’t make it any easier to read about. This event not only affected Della and Woods but the whole gang and it will be interesting to see where this goes in the future. Della does learn a lot about her past in this book and what she does find out makes her future all the more rosy, perhaps these new snippets of information will give her the courage needed to get on with her life, rather than dwell on the possibilities that could have emanated from her past. \”Heaven. This is my heaven. All I effing need to breathe,\” he said as he shifted his hips, moving in and out of me. Overall, this was a great read. I loved Simple Perfection and cannot wait to see where this series is going. Even though this one made me laugh and cry, I want to see their relationship develop even further, especially now that Della is more confident in herself and with the changes that Woods has made to his life, life for them can only get better.
