Skating the Line (San Francisco Strikers #2)

A decent read.
Skating the Line is book two in the San Francisco Strikers hockey series. I love hockey romance. I love that this author actually puts hockey into her stories.
I liked this story.
Ben is the captain of the team. Hes very closed off, hates the media, and has a general distrust of women.
Amanda is a free spirit. A travel reporter and blogger, who has been grounded for too long, dealing with the death of her beloved grandfather. Shes stuck in a go-nowhere job hoping to be promoted and allowed to travel again.
She meets Ben through mutual friends. She enjoys teasing him. And trying to get any reaction out of him has become a game to her.
There is instant attraction between them. Ben has a hard time opening himself up to new things. But hes willing to try with Amanda. Hes leery of what she does for a living, but wants desperately to trust her. Amanda has her own trust issues. After watching her mother move through men all of her life, she doesnt believe in happy endings.
Bens dad refuses to move forward after the death of his mom. Amandas mom refuses to grow up and live like an adult. Not the best role models for healthy relationships.
I really like the characters in this series. Real problems, real issues.
I loved watching Ben open up. Amanda seems to ground him, give him confidence to step out of his comfort zone.
This story is told in dual points of view. Theres no cheating. No cliffhanger. They do eventually find that happy ever after. (Although I thought Ben should have done a lot move groveling before he was forgiven)

After reading the first book, Breakout, I backed up and read the two books in the Love by the Bay series, simply because they have characters that crossover and I wanted the back stories. (Its not necessary to read the others, each book can standalone) And Im starting to see a pattern developing with the writing. After reading the four books, they are starting to become a bit formulaic and predictable. Ill keep reading a few more, hoping things change.

Really cute I absolutely love it honestly when I started reading itit was slow but it got to the point where it tole some juicy details and it made me not be able to stop reading so I kept reading and I loved that it showed a lot of obstacles through their relationship but I wish there was just a sit down with her and her mother and yes there was but not log enough I wish it was where it made he realize she needed him but thank god Ben did that work and p.s. I love the nicknames aka Cheesy and Manda and p.s.s. I totally recommend this book to anyone who love books like this especially this series so far go read it definitely wont disappoint

Second book is even better than the first. Lots of hockey and love. Did he ever get his pancakes? LOL.
