My 12 y/o daughter really enjoys the writing style of this author. She started reading this book mid day on a Saturday and didn\’t put it down until she\’d read the last sentence on Saturday evening. We went shopping and out to eat and she could not put it down. Since we were spending time together that afternoon, I asked her to read it aloud to me and I too was hanging on to every chapter. I was thought provoking and educational. I would ask my daughter \”what do you think about that?\” or \”How would you have handled that situation?\” just to engage in my child\’s understanding of the content. I was blown away by the responses. It helped me to engage in real world topics and measure where my daughter\’s understanding of those topics were and/or what level of conversation I needed to engage with my tween daughter. My daughter loved the book and I loved that she loved the book and how I was able to connect and parent her in these times.

Am I the author? Yes I am! Am I shamelessly giving my book 5 stars? Another yes! Lookit I had a blast writing this book that looks at the oddballs, the kids who feel left outI was that kid. But I also wanted to explore what happens to the student athletes whose future is tied up in being an athlete and then they get injured. And I wanted to look at contentious school name changes. And do you get those alerts from the local police telling you about an elderly person wandering off? Me too! And I wondered about how those families feel when their loved one is out there and they dont know where. This is how I write. I wonder about lots and lots of things and put it in a book. Of course friendship and how it works and how it sometimes doesnt is once again at the heart of one of my books because thats my holy grail. I hope youll like STS. I did!

Audiobook Something to Say by Lisa Moore Ramée
Lisa Moore Rame has done it again with another story of family, friendship, and personal growth! Readers will root for Jenae from the very first pages. I loved watching her friendships grow and the way Jenae found her voice through the course of the book. I also really loved reading the parts about Sylvia Mendez. The parts with Jenaes brother Malcolm and grandfather Gee also had my heart. So much to love about this wonderful book!

Loved this book! Perfect for my sixth graders- great to use to discuss family, friendship, fears of public speaking, and the ways to analyze different sides of an argument to form your own opinions!
