Southern Heartbreaker (Charleston Heat #4)

In Southern Heartbreaker, Jessica Peterson returns to Charleston, SC and another couple in the extended Charleston Heat family. Like the other books in this series, Southern Heartbreaker portrays Charleston beautifully, making the reader feel that they have actually been there while simultaneously longing to book a vacation ASAP. Ford and Eva, this book’s hero and heroine, were college sweethearts whose relationship ended when Ford broke up with Eva out of a misguided sense that doing so was the best thing for him. They meet again at the baby shower of Ford’s brother and Eva’s best friend (the couple from book 3), and sparks fly right away. Ford is a single dad, and his daughter Bryce is a fun addition to the dynamic between the couple as well as being the cause of the book’s central conflict. Eva’s career as a barbeque pit-master, blogger, and cookbook author, is vitally important to her and a key part of the plot, and I would personally like to put in a request that Jessica Peterson work on a cookbook of recipes from the Charleston Heat series– everything the characters eat is lovingly described in great detail, and I would love to make it in my own kitchen!

Ford and Eva’s relationship moves quickly and is full of heat. Their journey to a happily ever after is not easy, but it is portrayed beautifully by the author, who writes skillfully and honestly about women’s efforts to make meaningful careers and live out their dreams. Southern Heartbreaker is a sexy and rewarding read.

Eva and Ford, have a history.
One that he foolishly let go of and devastated
her, by telling her she was on a different path then him and then walked away.

Ford, is now a widower, with a four year old, and never believed that he could find love again.
He’s so busy with the company, he and his brother have built and with his brother in paternity leave he is shouldering a huge responsibility.

Eva, had gone after her dreams of being an authors who writes cookbooks and a master pit griller. She is in a slump and had come back home to get some inspiration.

When Ford, says hi, at his brother and sister-in-law’s baby shower that Eva is hosting, things start to heat up right away.
There is so much chemistry that the pages almost catching on fire.

As they give into this insane attraction, Julia admits she really doesn’t think she wants children, but then she starts to fall for his little girl and for him.

This book is by far my favorite, in the southern heat series, and that is something, because I love them all.

I highly recommend this author and all of her books.
You won’t be disappointed.

I hope we will have more to come with this series.

Ford is simply delicious! We knew he was hot, but, oh my, he’s off the charts!

Eva came home to throw her bestie, Julia a baby shower, but she’s also hoping home will help jump start her muse. Little did she expect running into her ex (and Gray’s brother), Ford would turn out to be the start of something good.

Ford’s adorable daughter makes parenthood seem possible. A lesson Eva needed. Lots of lessons are learned along the way.
1.) Frozen pizza tastes just as good as from scratch when you get family time in.
2.) Be mindful of your time. Over extending yourself does no one any favors.
3.) And when your chemistry is sizzling hot, you can’t let that person or yourself walk away.
4. ) Children or relationships don’t mean you have to give up your dreams.

Floved dirty talking, sweet Ford and sassy, independent, strong Eva.

And I can’t wait for more Charleston heat.

I absolutely adore this wholes series, and each book just keeps getting better and better! I loved all the books before it, but loved Ford and Eva’s journey! I could definitely relate to a lot of the thoughts and feelings of Eva, and loved seeing how they changed. I loved the snippets of their past and everything Ford and Eva did in the present. I loved Bryce and catching up with characters we’ve met before. Seriously, I loved this book and Jessica’s incredible writing! I never want this series to end, and recommend to everyone! Now we just need the audiobooks!

AHHHH THIS SERIES OF BOOKS ARE SOO AMAZING WONDERFUL ROMANTIC!!!!!!!!! ALL OF THE CHEMISTRY BETWEEN EVERYONE OFF THE FREAKING CHARTS AND THE CLOSENESS THAT EVERYTHING IS TO EACH OTHER AWWW!!!:))) AND HOW FORD AND EVA CAME BACK TOGETHER YEAH THEY HAVE HAD THEIR UPS AND DOWNS ALONG THE WAY BUT THEY WORKED IT OUT AND NOW EVA IS BRYCE’S STEP MOM AND EVA AND FORD AND BRYCE ARE LIVING HAPPILY EVER AFTER TOGETHER FOREVER LOVE IT!!!!:)))
