Stephen Hawking

This book is a well written story that combines a moving human element with a generous and understandable rendering of Astro-physics. The amount of time spent by the author with Stephen Hawking provided a unique opportunity for the development of a special friendship. Thus the book is a combination of wonderful story of a life well live and an understandable and interesting discussion of Hawking’s accomplishments in physics. Hawking was a true genius , especially about such phenomena as black holes. That he lived with ALS several decades longer that he or anyone else thought possible is a great story in itself. This is a heartwarming story which I recommend, especially those have even a cursory interest in physics.

The book is well written and very readable. The author has provided some detailed information that has not been offered before by other authors. a good weekend read.

Great story of humanity, both for Hawking and for his friends. Lite on physics long on human interest.

I bought this book for my son, a physics teacher. He is really enjoying the book and learning about Stephen Hawking.

This book is a memoir of a fascinating man, but the theoretical physics is heavy going. Which may say more about me than the book. Recommended.
