Boring and predictable. Incredibly tedious dialogue. The worst narration I have ever suffered through. The narrator speaks with a quavery voice as if she is about to cry the ENTIRE book. Just horrific. 86 people found this helpful

I disliked this book because of the main chacter,Charlie. At every turn,she’s a total idiot,changing sides from someone’s innocence to guilty at the drop of a hat. I preordered this audible and it did not disappoint. The characters came to life with the narrators southern drawl and I loved how you could feel the emotions in her voice. Despite the rumors in their small town Charlotte loves Paul (and not for his money) and doesn\’t believe what happened to his first wife was anything but a tragic accident. One woman\’s body found under Pauls\’ dock can be an accident, but can two? As the cracks appear and she learns more about her new husband and his past, Charlotte isn\’t sure what to believe and for good reason. Like all good thrillers, Belle delivers some serious plot twist at the end, what you don\’t expect is for them to keep coming like they do. This was a fantastic listen that I couldn\’t get enough of.
