This book was definitely better than the first. There was just so much more in this book: more explanations/background info, more romance, more heartbreak, more descriptions (I now know what Pagan, Dank, Leif, Jay, and Gee look like :D), and more lovely Dank moments. So thank you, Mrs. Glines for heeding my requests. I know some other reviewers had a problem with Pagan not trusting Leif and always reminding him what a terrible being he is–seeing as how he really never did anything to hurt her–but I have to side with Pagan on this one. If he really cared for her as much as he said he does, then he would let her go and allow her to be happy after realizing all the wrong he had already done. While I was reading this book, the movie The Princess and the Frog was playing in the background, which I felt only enhanced the creepy, Voodoo spirit vibe of the book. It had a lovely synergistic effect, and I recommend doing this. 🙂 Overall, it was a great addition to the series, and I can\’t wait for the last book!

This was a great second book. I love the love and devotion of all the characters They make you feel like you\’re there. There\’s so much going on but I love how everything and every question gets answered. There\’s no leaving you hanging but what about this and that questions. Everything is packaged into tidy answers. Nothing sloppy about this series. I would highly suggest this book to people even if paranormal things aren\’t usually your genre. They aren\’t really mine either but this is good reading. I literally did nothing of the things I should\’ve done today because I was so engrossed. I\’ve sat her for 6 hours straight just reading. Only stopping when I absolutely had to. Can\’t wait to read book 3! I want this series to be a movie! It would be FANTASTIC!

Audiobook Predestined (Existence #2) by Abbi Glines
First reaction: Welllllllll, after reading Existence I was spoiled with the romantic element. It\’s like crack and I wanted more. This installment was a bit cooler in that department…BUT don\’t fret: it was still SO good. Also, have I mentioned that I had all the excites because we got Dank POVs along the way???? I know, I know…I was flailing! Ok, back to the review. 😉 The story: It starts a month after book 1 left off. Boooo, because I felt like we missed a major kissy scene/reunion with Pagan and Dank. Before Pagan could officially end things with Leif, he disappeared. Just gone. In addition to Leif missing, things start changing with Pagan too. She now hears a voice in her head along with vivid dreams that turn out to be real memories. This never happened before, but as more information is presented it seems like the reason for all this is because Pagan\’s mother made a deal with a voodoo spirit lord when Pagan was a small child. Both Dank and Pagan are determined to find a way out of this. Pagan: I still love this heroine, her inner dialogue, her selflessness…I\’d love to be her friend. She is up against a lot yet handles it quite well. She\’s definitely mature for her age and I love it! Dank: He is even more protective in this installment, which I didn\’t think was possible. The best thing about Dank was that we find out his full name. Thank you, Abbi!! The romance: Dank and Pagan still can\’t be totally together even though they both have admitted their attraction to each other. When they kiss Pagan\’s soul wants to go into Dank. Yes, I LOVE THIS. I love that they have to resist. When Pagan says, \”Kiss me, Dank\” gah! Leif: You know, I still like him. I have faith his heart isn\’t totally on the wrong team. However he is in deep with some crazy shiz and I don\’t know if he can get away from it. Twists and turns: WOA! There was a serious unexpected event that made me so sad. At the same time though, I loved how things were so interconnected. I found there seemed to be a reason for so many things that weren\’t random or unlucky after all. I adore when that happens, when I have that aha! moment. The ending: Quite good! Great way to wrap things up and not leave me with a massive cliff-hanger. However, this story isn\’t even close to being over. I need answers on so many things still. Can\’t wait to start book 3, Ceaseless, tonight! Rec it? YES. I am freaking loving this series and you will too! Romance, a sexy male hero, awesome heroine, and lots of bad guys to fight. All kinds of win!

This was a very good second book. It leads up to the confrontation between Dank and Ghede. Even though Pagan and Dank have been allowed to be together, they still have to contend with Ghede and the restitution he believes he is owed. Ghede knows that he can\’t take Pagan and targets those close to her. Leif is still attempting to take back her affection but his attempts are stalled by Dank and Gee. Pagan has to come to terms with what Dank\’s job really requires. Pagan\’s mother is vacant for most of this book but does make an appearance when the specifics of her request to Ghede are needed. As with the previous book, I got a strong sense of deja vu in this book because of the similarities to other similar series. The difference remains that I still enjoy this series and in most cases did not finish other similar series because I hated how the storyline changed.

This book was great, better than the first. Once again I was left surprised and guessing what would happen next. Even though Dank\’s name bothered me in the first book it didn\’t this time around. Plus it helped that he was called Dankmar more often. 😉 Of course the last line of the book leaves us readers wanting more. Obviously I want to know what will happen with Wyatt and I can\’t wait for Ceaseless to be out. I do have a slight issue with Ceaseless though. What\’s with this… \”He defied Heaven to keep her, he defeated evil to save her, but if her soul wants another… Will he be able to let her go?\” Here when I was going to give Abbi Glines props for not writing any stupid love triangles I get that little teaser!! What the frick?? I do NOT want this series ruined by a damn love triangle with Pagan questioning her feelings for Dankmar. Say it isn\’t so!!! Anyhow, so far I love this series! I\’m holding out hope that Ceaseless will forget a love triangle was ever mentioned and be as awesome as the first two were!!
