The situation of the earth appears to look very dim and only those who have the chance to survive have been lucky enough to win the ticket of the earth. The rest of the population which is present on the earth faces a terrible crisis of food shortage. Andrew Grayson was never the hero type figure so he waited for a long time to get the ticket through the lottery but he was just not lucky enough.

So he decided to join the army because this was the second way to keep yourself close to food and other supplies. Also getting enlisted in the army allowed him to move away from the earth which was collapsing. When Andrew got enrolled in the army he was surprised to see that nothing was as it seemed from the outside.
No military leader ever told them about the dangers which the rest of the soldiers were facing in outer space. Many things were being kept as a secret from the people present on the earth so that they keep ignorant of the upcoming catastrophe. Joining the army was not a good decision for Andrew and now he has to survive till the day, the war ends.

Marko Kloos’ first book was highly appreciated by the fans and then the author created Citadel and Fields of Fire. Most of the stories by Marko are about war and the destruction of the world so there was very little peace time which Luke Daniels narrates. Big conspiracies and threats are at the core of this novel and the entire series moves on the same path.
