The Evil Men Do (Detective P. T. Marsh #2)

It looks like I may be the only reader so far who actually paid for his book. I give it four stars because I like the characters, I like police procedure plots, and the plot itself is clever although it did get a bit complicated at times.

I must confess however that I am tired of detectives Who drink too much, or are used to, or haunted by the past which has damage them severely somehow and yet they carry on. It seems to be a standard format for detectives and for me at least it has worn a bit thin. All the same, a good murder mystery.

This is the 2nd book about this detective. I like his personality. I like his dog Purvis. I like the East style of writing that keeps me turning the page. Hope to see more books from this writer.

I needed break from some serious, yet engrossing, non fiction I had spent the latter months of Vivid 19 reading. I had read Mr. McMahon first book and loved the interplay between Detective P.T. Marsh and his partner Remy Martin. This shows McMahon’s gaining strength and confidence in writing and story development. The action sequences kept me on the edge of my reading chair. As I said, just what I was looking for. An escape into the world of cops and bad guys nicely nuanced.

I hope the author writes more P.T. Marsh novels! Im confident you will enjoy these books

With multiple subplots. Kept me guessing nearly to the end. All in a a very enjoyable read. I read this one first and plan to read the first as well as the sequel.
