Glad these are readily available now. Had a couple of the original publications many years ago. Hard to find ever since. Good, tight, hard-boiled detective stuff from the sixties. And, yes, it’s not politically correct.

I REALLY enjoyed this book! Hardman is a real person, not a super hero, and he works hard to make a living. He has a good friend that helps him out, and they both take there share of lumps. It was fast moving, very realistic and believable, with a very accurate time period.

It was a little frustrating when he couldn’t contact someone, and I had to keep reminding myself – “Hey – it’s in the 70’s!!” (How did we survive without the Internet and cell phones?

I will definitely read more if not all of the Hardman series. SO GLAD they are available again. It would have been a great loss.

Audiobook The Golden Girl and All by Ralph Dennis

She’s a modern-day Helen of Troy, the Golden Girl, the femme fatale who melts men’s brains and gets them to do her bidding. And she’s absconded with the kid her ex-husband thought he sort of had custody of, six year old MaryAnn somewhere in the bleaker parts of Atlanta. It’s up to Jim Hardman, a pudgy forty year old ex cop, and his buddy, ex football star Hump Evans, to find her before half the Atlanta underworld does. If you are into hard-edged action-packed crime fiction, the Golden Girl is your golden ticket. Smoothly written, well plotted, and fast-paced. This series is terrific.

Audio The Golden Girl and All narrated by Shawn Compton

Really liked the story. Kept me wondering and reading. Liked the team of Hardman and Hump Evans. Just one thing I didn’t like about the two but let other readers figure out what that might be. Very interesting read tho.

The Hardman stories are great stuff. Super characters and plenty of twists and turns. It’s a real shame there aren’t more of them in print.
