Long novels got the listeners charged up and as a change, Gregg Hurwitz presents a short story to add a little variety to the show. The story is not long and detailed because it is not connected to Buy a Bullet and The Nowhere Man.
That’s why no details about Evan’s past have been presented here. Also, the series has come to the point now where people don’t want to listen more about the past as they are concerned about what is happening in the present.
THE INTERN: AN ORPHAN X SHORT STORY
As a short trip, this book describes a small incident during which an intern’s path collides with the path of the Nowhere Man. She was just following the reporter who was helping her in gaining more knowledge about the profession.
The two went a little too deep into the den of the dark forces and when they tried to get out of it they found themselves trapped. Instead of yelling or crying the girl just leaves everything in the hands of Evan who is a trained killing machine with no mercy in his heart for the evildoers. Finally, in the end, the girl is saved and Evan feels the pleasure of helping others once again in his heart.
Although everything goes fine for the sake of the girl Evan has to come out of the hidings once again and his cover is blown which means the enemy is again coming to track him down. Whatever happens, the Orphan X is back in business after a little break and he is fresh as ever which is bad news for the enemies.
