starting to truly love this series. Do wish someone would spell check e books. If I can spot spelling & editing errors, there\’s a fair number of them. Very good on the historical basis and I like the dog (he\’s also neither a \”lassie\” nor an idiot dog. What he does is what a dog could and might well do). Characters are reasonably well developed and one can identify with them. Like that the women are presented as full characters and not mere \”backdrops\” to the story.

The Merchant\’s Mark audiobook in series Gil Cunningham
I really loved this book and can\’t wait till to read the next one. Some folks had some trouble with all the different characters in the first chapter, but I really didn\’t find this to be a problem. I love that all of these books build on the basic cast while continuing to add new ones to spice it up.

Audiobook The Merchant\’s Mark by Pat McIntosh
I am slowly reading through the entire series. The plots grab you from the beginning, and you cannot wait to see how your favorite character, Gil Cunningham, solves this one. The time period is described in such detail that you can picture the life, clothing, food, etc. of the daily lives of people.

To put it rather gently, this book is rather boring. The author seems overly concerned with archaic language and is in some spots unintelligible. The characters have promise, but they are not endearing. I find I\’m rooting for the villains at times just so the main characters express some emotion.

This is a great series and have now read all of them. Can\’t wait for the next Gil Cunningham. It was hard at first trying to keep up as the Author used a lot of Scott sayings and phrases, but stick with it and you will love it.
