I am a die hard Dean Koontz & Mark Edwards fan. I didn’t want to read any of your books until I was all caught up with reading Mark Edwards. I don’t know why. It wasn’t fair. I am reading a lot about dementia which is what caught my eye. Your book is “sic”!! Absolutely awesome!! I have a new fave author . I see exactly why you & Mark are co-writing! In my opinion you are very, very similar. I understand you have been writing much longer than Mark. I had no reason for putting off reading your books. You are in my top ten now. Wonderful read. Highly recommend. So many surprises & unexpected turns of events. There is no way anyone could guess the ending, and then the ending again!!

…..and still with all this said above it’s so tedious. The first part is interesting for everybody who knows anybody having dementia related illnesses, though it’s all too detailed and petty. Then the song and dance gets complicated, with superfluous inserts of remembrances of days past – and the relentless perspective of a slow and frumpy first-person-narrator with loose morals and very elastic ethics never lets up. A huge muddle up with every conceivable turn taken – and still you end up with the same first person narrator walking off into the sunset, several murders or convenient drop-dead-after-being-hit-once-on-the-head later…. nothing done has consequence, it’s water off a duck’s back. Cold? Nah, those deaths are not really convincing, they are everybody’s fantasy of revenge. So if you aren’t convinced by those disjointed crime-elements, it’s mostly simply ordinary and shallow and not interesting, let alone thrilling. Should be a short story perhaps? My advice: do not waste your time on this book.

Audiobook The Old You by Louise Voss

This book started out fine. I got into it right away. However, it was not gripping. It took me a lot longer to finish than usual. The part that really bothered me was when Lynn realized that Ed was very dangerous. It seemed so ridiculous for her to go alone to confront him.
