The Poison Flood

I was excited to see Jordan’s second novel come out. It has vivid characters and a really engaging story. His characters are right out of the geography of Appalachia. Jordan writes with honesty and authenticity about his characters and their situations. The story has a lot to recommend it, and the resolution is original and very satisfying. You’ll want to take this literary journey with some unforgettable characters.

Farmer paints a gorgeous and fantastic vision of what its like to live in rural Appalachia. His characters are highly developed and jump off the page. Ones you pick The Poison Flood up you cant sit it down. From start to finish its exploration into the dark heart of small town West Virginia and no one spins this web better then Jordan Farmer.

I base my favorite books on stories that make me feel special. And this book delivered more than I thought imaginable. My breath caught on fire with every line. I didnt want to put it down and even found myself rationing the novel so I could read it longer.

I absolutely loved The Poison Flood. I could not put it down. The colorful characters pulled me into the story line and had me feeling their emotions. The novel is packed with actions and events that keep the reader engaged. The setting goes perfectly with the characters and makes the story even more intriguing.

This was a great read. As someone who grew up in West Virginia I feel that Farmer captured the experience very well. I appreciate the honest unvarnished reality Hollis faces while he demonstrates the power of the human spirit to persevere.
