Monique a low-profile journalist herself gets surprised when she gets the call from a legend. She was never ready for such a big thing in her professional life, now the opportunity was at her grasp so missing it was a sin. Monique comes to Evelyn Hugo’s residence as she starts narrating the story of her life. One by one the old legend tells the journalist about her life with her seven husbands. Not only this personal life story she tells the audience how she rose in the world of glamour by establishing connections with the people who could help her out. As Monique keeps on listening to the story she finds out the reason for her selection. The story of the old legend resembles Monique’s life in the current situation.

It was like writing an autobiography instead of a biography after the last part for the journalists. One narrator was ample for a book like this but still, we have three narrators here including Alma Cuervo, Julia Whelan, and Robin Miles. The three have done a there job well in all respects. For those who like this book, Daisy Jones & The Six and Evidence of the Affair would also be a nice addition to the bookshelf. Each book of Taylor Jenkins brings out the real-life events which are corrosive and mind-blowing.
