I finally read a Christmas themed story during the Christmas season! Its rare that I can find a holiday themed read of interest during said holiday, but I quickly learned that I needed to pick up Kristen Painters Nocturne Falls novellas and what better one to start with then The Werewolfs Christmas Wish.

Its been too long since I last visited Nocturne Falls, but this little Christmas trip was absolutely perfect! Though not much in the way of action, this story definitely develops yet another couple in a possible happy place. Its hard to label it HEA when they are only just finding their relationship.

Bridget has been crushing on Sam for a good while now, and she thought that he liked her too. Until he came back from the fire academy and would barely look at her. Then on Christmas Eve she gets a phone call saying that the richest vampire in town, Elenora is without her champagne order. Ready to strangle her new help, Bridget promises to get it delivered up asap, but in order to do that she needs to borrow a firetruck from her brother and the only firefighter left at the station is none other than Sam.

What quickly follows is a mishap that leave these two werewolves locked in a freezer with no possible way out until someone discovers that they are missing. And what better use of time then to work out the issues that linger between them?

This little novella was a nice quick read, but sadly it kind of lacked any plot or action. It was in some ways, a simple love story. Which was nice and all, but I wouldnt have minded a little more conflict. I still plan to check the rest of the novellas out and hopefully get caught up with the series at large soon!

Overall Rating 3.5/5 stars

What not to love from Nocturne Falls series? I love all of them. I think this is the only series that though I have the story in an anthology, I still buy the standalone one. If there are print books (and not too expensive) I know I’ll buy them too.
I always like Bridget since the first time she was introduced. She’s an upstanding gal, no-nonsense and fair. Strong-willed and knew what she wanted. I absolutely love her. Sam was also a likeable character. Rather unsure of himself, feeling a bit unworthy after things happened to his family, he’s trying to do the right thing, ignoring his own desire. They were an adorable couple and I hope to see more of them (glimpses are okay) in the next books. The story itself was light, heart warming and joyful packed in one neat little story.

Audiobook The Werewolf’s Christmas Wish by Kristen Painter

Another solid installment (short story) of this delightful paranormal cozy mystery series., Bridget, the proprietor of the popular paranormal bar in Nocturne Falls, a town in the north Georgia mountains populated by and dedicated to its many paranormal inhabitants, finally gets her man. Though only a perifical character in all the books in this series, I always got the sense that Bridget, though busy and successful, was lonely so I was glad to finally get her story. I love this series…it has it all, even if you are not into paranormal stories…a little humor, romance, whimsical setting, a wide variety of intriguing characters plus solid plots and twists, make this a must read for cozy mystery fans who want something a bit different but still without the graphic sex and violence of many romance and paranormal publications. Try it, you’ll like it!

Audio The Werewolf’s Christmas Wish narrated by B.J. Harrison

I was so happy to see these two end up together and even happier to find this story about them. From other books we saw them meeting each other and got to see the sparks beginning to form but never got to know if they ever made it together. It was nice seeing Bridgette, bar owner and werewolf, getting her own chance at love. She’s been a staple in most every Nocturne Falls story, and I was so happy to see her get a sexy werewolf of her own. Not to mention Sam deserves something good in his life after what his father has done to him and his sister. I am looking forward to more from these two and hope they get the happily ever after they both deserve together and we get another story about them to love.

beautifully done! I love all of Kristen’s books! I have a big ol’ soft spot for this series and all the people in it!

Bridget has always been such a lone and lonesome character because of her overly protective brothers and her busy life, so it was nice to see her finally find someone. I really enjoyed the character of Sam and I can’t wait to get to see them more as a couple in the Kristen’s novels as they are a awesome couple and are deserving of more depth then just this novella I think.

can’t wait to see what more is in store for them in the future as Kristen is up to her tricks I know..lol..more surprises are coming our way with this series! and I can’t wait!
