Tomboy

Overall this book was pretty okay. I liked the characters, though their respective drama that gave them both their bitchiness was a little exaggerated and dramatic. I appreciated that the author didnt feel the need to add sex scene after sex scene, sometimes its nice to just let that be- BUT, if youre looking for sexy, this is definitely not the book for you. I kept waiting for the hot level to be kicked up, but it never came.
I liked the story overall, aside from the end which I felt was very offputting. It was, though, the end so o guess its whatever. The writers wording was weird and took me several times of rereading sentences or paragraphs for it to make sense at times.

First read by this author. There were good characters and an interesting romance but what group of women, or men for that matter, use the F word in every conversation? So classless, trashy and unnecessary.

I just read my favorite book by this author!!! I just love a total jerk with a soft center and a fearless woman who takes him on! A story with intense sexual tension, a great family of crazy characters, the best friends a girl could have and a budding bromance.

Fallon is a nurse. Shes no girly girl. Shes no nonsense and low maintenance. Shes a take no flak caregiver with a big and generous heart. Always doing for others but never asking for help. She comes from a great family and the girl has sound morals. She may come off as a witch to some, but thats just by people who are intimated by a strong, independent woman who doesnt hold back and speaks her mind.

Zach is the bad boy of hockey. He likes his puck bunnies because they just come and then GO. Hes the guy that everyone loves to hate. Hes brought alot of that on himself, but he also has his reasons and hes not sharing them.

Zach and Fallon butt heads immediately when she is asked to help him out. You just want to stand by and watch because you know when they reach their breaking point, its going to be explosive! But they come to an agreement thats mutually beneficial and should bring them both satisfaction. Things are going to get heated!

An entertaining story with characters you will love. I definitely want more of the guys from the hockey team. Zach was so much more than his media persona. A reminder that people arent always what they seem and family isnt always blood related. Everyone has a story and it shapes who they become and the choices they make. A recommended read that will put a smile on your face!

We get to know another Hartigan family member, Fallon this time a lot lot more. If you have read The Hartigan books Muffin Top and Butter Face you will have gotten to know Fallon a wee bit. You do not have to have read the first two books to enjoy this book at all but why not.
Fallon is a nurse and her bestie ask her to check in on the resident bad boy of Ice Knights, while she and Frankie are out of town. Zach Blackburn is sicker than a dog and Fallon takes care of him and is spotted by the press. OH my this starts off a series of events that could be horrible for her. I mean he is the most hated man is Harbor City and for good reason too if you like hockey. Then things come out in the press and we know that everything we read or see in the media is always true right? Yea…
Oui this book touched on so many truths not only about appearances but about what we read and see if things are really true. I am so looking forward to more books from this author.

Tomboy is book 3 is The Hartigans series. It definitely can be a stand alone. In fact this is the first book I read in this series and by this author and I became very connected to this story from the start. I actually read this book in one sitting. That doesn’t happen to me very often. I just didn’t want to put it down.

Poor Fallon she gets talked into helping her best friend, PR Manager for Zach Blackburn, defense-man for Ice Knights Hockey Team with her nursing skills to help nurse him back to health.

From the moment she presses the buzzer on his gate their banter starts and it continues throughout the whole book. Fallon does not take any crap from anyone but on the other hand she’ll have their back 110% too.

Zach comes off as a typical arrogant jock at first until you realize there is a lot more to him. He’s carrying a pretty heavy load. Through his connection with Fallon he allows himself to open up not only with her for with his teammates as well. That pretty awesome to see unfold.

These two together is combustible. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and can’t wait to read another one by this author.
