Omg I was not prepared for how fantastic this book would be. Don’t get me wrong I love all of Jamie Begley’s books but this one was above and beyond fantastic. I could not put it down!!!! Read all day!!! I got nothing done that needs to get done at my house because I could not stop reading this book. I loved both of these characters. Train was so great. I think he may be in a tie with Shade.( I can’t believe I am saying that because no book guy has ever come close to Shade!!). And Killyama, I have never loved a book heroine like I love her. She is the total badass book Goddess. She is so strong yet so soft!!! Loved her. Usually I get mad at the girls at some point I never felt that with her at all. This book had it all.
You have out done yourself Jamie Begley!! This is a must read. Loved it from page one !! Did not want it to end!! Can’t wait for the next one!!

Train\’s Clash audiobook in series Last Riders

I normally don’t give books I’ve finished reading a one-star review, but this was bad. I’m going to stand by my original thought that Begley didn’t write this book. Either that or she’s churning out mediocre drivel to meet a commitment. One of the main reasons I say this is because for the preceding 8 books I’ve had to read the same description of the Last Riders’ tattoos. Not in this one.

I don’t have the greatest opinion of these books to begin with, but I fully admit to them being a shameless guilty pleasure. That being said, I don’t expect much from them, but I had higher expectations (on the low expectation spectrum) for this book. Train and Kilyama have been eluded to throughout the series and I was actually looking forward to seeing how their relationship developed. This book was a total disappointment. The character development was bad, the back story was lame and Kilyama was a whiny cow. And let’s not forget the sex, because that’s why we read these stupid things. The love/sex/whatever scenes in this book were sooo badly written. (Another reason why I don’t’ think Begley wrote it) Gah! So annoyed. Two of the most entertaining characters in the series were cannibalized into a big pile of ‘meh’.

Another thing that truly disappointed me was the editing. Was it? The grammatical errors and nonsense that constituted sentences were awful. This book was an assault on the English language. Again, the caliber of these books is not great, but the writing, flow and thought organization of the preceding books far exceeds the steaming pile of poo this book was. It was a frustrating read on so many levels. It sucks to be disappointed so badly when I went into it with low expectations to begin with. Bad, bad, bad. Just walk away!

Audiobook Train\’s Clash by Jamie Begley

It’s hard to write a review about this book without sploilers but I will.

In short, I will say that I’ve read all the books up to this one and loved them (except Winter’s second book where Winter was portrayed as the ultimate insecure woman-yuck! WTF Ms. Begley?!? And what sane woman pushes for a pregnancy that she and/or her baby might not survive? Being a mother means it’s not about you and your pregnancy experience! It’s supposed to be about your kid. Ugh. Skip that book).

Train came through this book looking better than ever. But Killyama… I honestly loved her in every other book but HATED her in this one. She got the prerequisite tragic backstory which was well written but she was so freaking selfish I couldn’t stand her by the end. She was selfish and cruel and pathetic to poor Train. He deserves better than to just wait for her to grow up. She’s not 22, she’s in her early 30s right? Where’s her maturity? At the end, when did she ever think about how her decisions affected/hurted Train? It was all about her.

I’m hoping that in her next book she’ll go back to strong female leads without the selfish/cruel streak. I miss them.

Audio Train\’s Clash narrated by Elizabeth Hart

I was so not sure about buying this book due to the disappointment caused by Winter and Viper’s last book. I was ready to say goodbye to Jaime Begley, especially at $5.99 a pop. I started reading Train’s story, and about 10-15% into it, I wanted to throw it out the window. I bitched to myself as well as a couple of friends about how much I hated Train. And then, the more I read, I started falling in love with Train. Who would’ve thunk it????? Not me, that’s for sure.

Both Train and Killyama are awesome, solid characters. I loved their story and was not ready for it to end. Although, I do have to admit that I was a little disappointed that Killyama ended up being ok with being shared by Train with his buddy. Out of all of them, my money was on her that she would put her foot down and just say NO, I will NOT share!! But eh, she went with it. There are tons of surprises in this book. The biggest one of them all blew me away, even though I did kinda, sorta guessed what it was about when I was about a quarter into it. I think I just lucked out with my guess though, cause it’s a big one. BIG!!!!

P.S. The damn club bunnies, Sasha and Stori, must die. I don’t want to read about them anymore, and, God forbid, I don’t want to read books about them. I just HATE them. I had to get that off my chest.

The Last Riders is a different kind of MC series. The characters are all well drawn and realistic. I am a huge fan even though I am well in my 60s. I had been really looking forward to Killy and Trains story and was not disappointed. I am not going to go through the book, just to say its all that one expects from Jamie Begley. Buy it. Buy it now. There are moments of pathos and angst and love and also a huge twist I didn’t see coming. So hope another book there, its bound to be a tearjerker. Also book includes a deeper look into the character of Rider who is more complex than previously revealed so hopefully there’s his story to look forward to. So dear author can you quickly write the next few books , without any drop in quality. Tall order I know.
