The transcendent Kingdom is a genre fiction novel. It is written by Yaa Gyasi. She is a Ghanaian-American author. Homegoing was her debut novel which was published for the first time in 2016. She won the National Book Critics Circle’s John Leonard Award and she was only 26 years old then.
Bahni Turpin narrated this book. The voice seems to be the perfect choice for this novel and its characters. Bahni should continue to narrate all the books which are written by Yaa Gyasi. It was a splendid performance which will make you love this book even more.

Gifty is a Ph.D. candidate in her sixth year of neuroscience. She was researching at the Stanford University School of Medicine. Her subject was the reward-seeking conduct in nice and also the neural circuits associated with addiction and depression. Nana, her brother was a highly talented athlete in high school who took his last breath due to an overdose of heroin. This happened when he sustained an ankle injury and he was reliant on Oxycontin. Now, it is her mother with suicidal tendencies living in her bed.
The gift was quite determined to find out about the scientific reasoning of the suffering she experienced all around her. But, even when she employed science to unlock all the mystery of the loss of her family, she discovered herself looking more for her childhood faith. This is a very moving story of Ghanaian immigrants which will make you speechless.
