Catherine has had a rough go of it in the past and is just trying to keep her head above water for her daughter and herself. Once Brett comes into her life, she\’s afraid her whole world will be turned upside down again. Until It Fades does an amazing job of showing people in tough situations but still coming off as incredibly uplifting. You feel so much for these characters and their struggles that you\’re just that much more connected to their happiness. I found myself smiling and internally cheering for these characters when things went right in their lives. I loved Catherine and how strong and self sufficient she was. I also loved the amazing support system she\’s built herself, from Lou to Keith to her brother and her dad, to even Misty (at times). Her mom had her moments when I really wanted to dislike her, but in the end, she\’s just a parent, trying to do what she believes is best and you can\’t hate her too much for that. Brett is the ultimate perfect guy. Everywhere you look, he\’s all kinds of perfect and dreamy. The best part is, he feels that way about Catherine. He sees her for everything she is and loves the whole package. Brett and Catherine\’s love story is not without obstacles, but I loved the way they dealt with everything that came their way. Honesty and communication drive this relationship (except that one big secret) and it was so refreshing to see that. Often we see so much miscommunication in books, where problems could have been easily fixed with just a simple conversation and I loved that Catherine and Brett actually talked to each other. This book made me so happy, it\’s a perfect beach read!!!

After reading (and enjoying) a lot of K.A. Tuckers romantic suspense, I can wholeheartedly that she does the sweet romance just as good. Until It Fades was a sweet burn type of love story that moved along at just the right pace to keep me intrigued and engaged. I found myself reading it over the course of an afternoon because I just didn\’t want to put it down. I was captured from the very beginning and I found that it was perfectly balanced with the flashbacks of the past that revealed Cath\’s past bit by bit. And being honest I was a fan of Brett from the very first time he shows up at Cath\’s door – a really big fan. He was every bit the book boyfriend I was hoping he\’d be, never letting my love for him waver… not even for a sentence. And in true Tucker fashion Cath and Brett were surrounded by a well developed cast of secondary characters. Well written and well developed, Until It Fades reminded me of all the reasons I was drawn to K.A. Tucker\’s writing style many books ago. I cannot wait to add this one to my shelf with all the other five star gems she has written.

Audiobook Until It Fades by K.A. Tucker
Man was this dreamy. I read Keep Her Safe and loved it, now I read Until It Fades and I don’t know if it can get any better than this. The story was great, the characters were great, everything was great. Until It Fades is about a young single mother who’s been through a lot named Catherine Wright who one foggy night helps save the life of a famous hockey player Brett Madden. Of course when Catherine first saves Brett she has no idea who he is until officers arrive. “Something good will come from the bad. It always does. That’s how life balances itself out. That’s how people keep going.” Catherine try’s to keep her identity a secret but eventually it comes out, and when it does everything sure dose change. All the characters were perfect for this story. Catherine’s friends and boss were the best, especially being there after everything she had been through, and Brett, he wouldn’t be where he is today if it wasn’t for the love and support from his parents. “If this is being smart, then you need to be stupid. Be an absolute idiotic moron. Be like me.” one thing I really loved was the slow connection that formed between Brett and Catherine it was just right and not rushed at all. Then Brenna, Catherine’s daughter she was so sweet, cute and really funny at times. I just loved her sweetness. “You’re perfect. You know that, right?” When I don’t answer, he pulls back, just far enough to meet my eyes, his nose nuzzling against mine affectionately. “I wouldn’t want to change one single thing about you. Ever.” I’m really glad that I read this book, it is a good read. Brett and Catherine’s story really is a sweet one and sure shows how anything can be possible if you work hard enough, and miracles do come true. “It’s good to have dreams. Without dreams, we wouldn’t have goals. And without goals . . . what’s the point of living?”

Audio Until It Fades narrated by Shayna Thibodeaux
Catherine is a single mother, aged 24 and a truck stop waitress. She also becomes a hero overnight, when she saves a man from a burning car, and he happens to be a huge celebrity. She tries avoid the limelight because she has a sordid past in her home town and has no desire to relive her past in front of millions of viewers. This is a nicely written romance, with good pacing and poignant emotions. Catherine’s character is well developed and her experiences are slowly revealed throughout the book and some of those experiences are a little surprising. Brett is kind, gentle and understanding. For a man raised in the limelight he has a down to earth attitude. His situation is difficult but all he wants to do is protect Catherine to the best of his ability. I love the relationship Catherine has with her family, it’s fraught and difficult and at the same time supportive and loving, though it took a long time to get there. For those of us with difficult teenaged years we can understand how easy it is to fall out with our parents, but then slowly find your way back to them, even if it’s not smooth sailing. Though this is about an improbably story, it still manages to feel real and believable. A very enjoyable read.

I really enjoyed this book. Catherine is an interesting heroine. She is a 24yr old single mum who has been a social pariah in her small home town. One foggy night she leaves her job as a waitress at a local cafe and drives home to her tiny cottage but on the way she comes across a horrific car accident . She finds herself rescuing a man, but he is no ordinary man-he is Brett Madden, a hugely successful and popular hockey player. The story explores the connection that has been forged between Brett and Cath. They are from vastly different backgrounds but in many ways their characters are similar. I loved the secondary characters who all contributed hugely tote warmth and substance of the story. So, why not 5 stars? Ok, so it\’s no secret that I like dual pov books best but that is my personal preference so I happily accept that some prefer single pov BUT in this book I honestly felt at least some of it should have been from Brett\’s viewpoint. I needed more of him and his headspace. This is a slow burn romance, which is great, but I felt like I didn\’t know him very well even at the end. Having said all that, I thoroughly enjoyed this book and would love to see other characters get their stories (I\’m looking at Jack, Keith or Misty here!) HEA? Yes, but I would have loved to have seen further into their future. Cheating? No
