There are things that we like in this world and then there are those things that we just cannot digest. But of course, such things don’t appear between the love of a mother and son. Mothers love their sons more than anything in their life and the sons also do the same thing as it is quite natural.

In Lionel Shriver’s new novel the case is quite opposite because here the mother just never wanted to have a baby so when Kevin came into her life she wasn’t ready to accept him. Perhaps she wanted to get rid of him as he was the one nightmare she never wanted to come true. All of it was fifteen years ago and Eva is now living a well-balanced life because she has adjusted herself to all of the things which she hated in her youth.
Soon her son is going to reach his sixteenth birthday and hopefully in the future life will go well for both of them. Then towards the middle Coleen Marlo narrates the tragic scene. Eva’s son kills seven of his high school friends and after that, he kills his teacher as well who happens to be a nice man.

Many presents around Eva think that it was just a rash thing that her son did, the woman is scared that perhaps it was her rejection that made her son a criminal. The mental torment through which the mother and son go through can make anyone cry.

WE NEED TO TALK ABOUT KEVIN: WOW! This book is so well written and narrated I was blown away and addicted to listening. I will say it is a book I think people will either love or just move on to something else. I highly recommend not giving up. (Especially parents or those planning on becoming parents) I did want to see what else she (Lionel Shriver is female) wrote beside this book. I looked her up online and goodreads gave this book an almost 5 star rating, by 163,190 people who read the book. I gave it an easy 5 star rating and will definitely want to read everything this author has written. If you saw the movie it is NOTHING like the book. I found the entire book fascinating and enlightening. I don’t want to spoil anything for anyone else who might decide to listen to this book. I will say it made me SO angry, incredibly sad and the sarcasm is spot on. I also cried many times. This book won what is know as the Orange Prize. I also enjoyed the interview with the author after finishing the book extremely interesting. One of the most important books of our time. Real, Raw and Amazing. Thank you so much Galaxy Audio for making such an important book available.
