Web of Dreams (Casteel #5)

I suppose the author wanted to bring the story full circle, and it does do that.

I was expecting book 5 to be the story of Luke and Annie’s life. They are barely mentioned, saying they have children, but not how many, or whether boys or girls, or any names–I wish the author had at least supplied that information.

However, I did greatly enjoy the book, despite it not being what I expected. As do all the books in this series, the characters seem like real people, and I found myself feeling a lot of emotions throughout the book regarding what happened to them.

The young Luke Casteel was interesting–certainly not what I expected him to be.

I almost hated for the series to end — although I know going much further would have become a confusing family tree.

I bought the package version with both reading and audible. The audible version is awful. She whispers through out the entire book and is barely understood if there is anything else going on around you.

I feel very twisted to admit to this but I felt sorry for Tony and Leigh. I think he is somewhat a good person but is not right in the head. He loves Leigh prob very innocent in the beginning but it seems he loves her pureness so unlike Jillian. He loves her goodness and wants to be with her. Yes he selfish he allows Jillian to offer Leigh as his mistress to keep him happy. We don’t see his evil side until later when he finally turnS into a monster. In the beginning I think he fought his lust and that his love for Leigh was genuine. Very said story for all sides. The monster her was Jillian.

The narrator to this book whispered throughout the book. Very difficult to listen to on earphones. You have to turn the volume on to the max and then once in a while when she is talking as a different character she is loud and hurts your ears. Very disappointed at spending the money on such poor quality recording.

The characters are so alive! I loved the story of Leigh finishing up the loose ends of the series. Such great descriptions that pull you right in.
