There is not one poem in this book that I dont love. Not one. Ive purchased poetry books because I loved and resonated with just one poem in the whole book and here I am reading one where every time I turn the page and read the next poem Im like no way can I love this one too…and then I do. I bought a bunch for women I love for Christmas. Perfect gift. THANK YOU KATE FOR THIS TREASURE!

Im a mom of 4. I havent had time to finish a book in at least a year. I devoured this book while laying on the floor of my daughters nursery this evening. What can you say about a book that describes every facet of life as a wife/mother/woman? Weaving the joy and the grief of life into something ethereal. I will be reading these poems daily for a long time.

Audiobook What Kind of Woman: Poems by Kate Baer
I have followed this writer for a few years online. I love her raw and authentic take on motherhood, friendships, marriage, critics and life. I am a veracious reader, but I have never really liked poetry. It makes me feel stupid. I remember studying poetry in school and everyone around would be nodding and humming in agreement and I wanted to scream I dont get it. But this I devoured this book, it is beautiful inside and out. So you should get this book even if you dont think you like poetry.

Kate has poured herself into these pages. Her work is raw, untamed, and absolutely stunning. I’ve been reading it throughout the day and her words echo in my soul. They’re wildly relatable and often express aches and joys I didn’t realize I carried. I’m so grateful for this collection, it will be reread many times in the years to come and very happily passed on to my daughter someday.

Although I typically don’t care for poetry, I love Kate’s poetry. It’s relatable and sharable; I find myself sharing poems from this book (or her instagram page) with my friends frequently.
I received my copy of the book today, and will be buying more copies for my friends as gifts for sure.
