Ok, so in this book dawn has a “friend” that trays to make her dress differently, do her hair differently and more! And she doesn’t like this so she solves her problem in a very epic and exciting way! Ps: that rude friend is kicked to the curb!!!!!!! GREAT BOOK GUYS!!!!!

This book was alright, it was definitely not my favourite, I would rate this book for 10-14 yr olds. I think there wasn’t enough about baby-sitting, since it is The Baby-Sitters Club, afterall.

Audiobook Dawn and the Older Boy by Ann M. Martin
This was a good book because you can tell that Dawn likes Travis but really he is trying to make her something that Dawn is not. Dawn made a good decision and stopped obsessing over Travis. My favorite part is when Dawn calls Travis and tells him off.

Audio Dawn and the Older Boy narrated by Stephanie Einstein
this book in sooo unrealistic. Dawn gets caught up in a helpless crush with a SIXTEEN year old boy in who she thinks likes him. But doesn’t realise that he is just trying to “help” her. The girls in the BSC are not very understanding of Dawns crush they just know that she gets into a car with Travis and goes on a “date”. Towards the end of the book Dawn FINALLY realises that Travis doesn’t really like her he just wants to make her look good in his eyes. Dawn drives me crazy in this book, she dosen’t stand up for herself when Travis orders for her in a restaurant, she doesn’t say no when Travis tells her to cut her hair! Usualy Dawn is so independent and stands up to her self but in this book she just does whatever Travis says without question. Very disappointing.
Now by no means am I saying all of the books are bad just a few of them. Also I am just trying to warn you about this book, not just saying its bad.
ps a big thanks to spellchec for this review:-)

As a homeschool parent, I was always on the lookout for the next book or book series that would really get one of my kids reading. Of course, interests vary, so book choices need to be tailored to each individual child.
When my older daughter discovered The Baby-Sitters Club books, I knew I was onto something. I must have bought 100 of these books, all of which she devoured. She also reread many of them. At that age, anything that gets them reading and keeps them reading is a win. From that perspective, I can highly recommend these books.
My daughter loved them so much that she was never willing to part with them. She now teaches fourth grade and took the books to her classroom!
One of the characters has Type I Diabetes. While I applaud inclusion of any character with a disability in childrens books, mistakes were made. We know this because my younger daughter has Type I Diabetes. But even that proved educational because we discussed the diabetes situations as they arose.
