I have read most of this series of books. They are cute mysteries, not hard to follow and makes a nice break from thriller type mysteries. I like the humor, the well established characters and the quick moving plots. The books are starting to follow a warn,, set path. The chapters when they get to court are always a bit drug out in my opinion. A lot of the same old same old from books gone but with different situations/issues. It gets tedious to read the reintroduction of main characters, being rich enough not to work…etc. in each book. Even though the author does try to find slightly different ways to do it with each book. Also, there are a lot of blank pages and large type to make the books seem longer. I will continue to buy the series as it is entertaining but it is no longer a must have on my list.

Deck the Hounds audiobook in series Carpenter Series
I’m reading ‘Deck the Hounds’ #18 in the series, and quite surprised when Andy and Willie go over to Joseph Russo’s house, and ask him questions. Joseph Russo, Dominic Petrone’s second in command, was killed , (really killed, his face/head was blown off), in ‘Outfoxed” #14 in the series! I started with ‘Dachshund Through the Snow’, then went back to start with the first in the series. I love them, and will re-read.

Audiobook Deck the Hounds by David Rosenfelt
Rosenfelt has done another incredible job here. For those already familiar with the life and times of criminal defence attorney Andy Carpenter this is another serving at the table of that five-star meal. While this is book 18 in the series it is written to stand alone (and leave you hungry for more) if you are sitting down to this feast for the first time. When you add lawyers, puppies, and outstanding sarcasm to a meal of murder and mayhem you get some amazing results: Tasty and rare but very well done.

Audio Deck the Hounds narrated by Grover Gardner
This is the best Andy Carpenter book yet. You could read this as a stand-alone and love it. This book grabs your interest and keeps it through to the very end. Once again Rosenfelt brings an issue to the forefront, that of homeless veterans and their struggles. He weaves it into the story masterfully. The book is very good and if you’re an Andy Carpenter fan, you’ll love it. I think you’ll like it even if you’ve never read any of the other books. I thought “Rescued” was the best yet and “Deck the Hounds” is just as good.
The book was right on track with the world today. So many forgotten vets.are homeless. Mr. Rosenfelt always writes great stories , laced with humor. The Christmas part of the story could have been written by my own husband. He wants our tree to be left up as long as possible. It’s always late in January when he gives in and takes it down. He would like it left up all year and decorated for the different holidays. He really is a sweetheart. The story was good and I enjoyed it but I like all his books.

This story is right on track with the many forgotten vets left homeless. One is attacked on the street, but that wasn’t the crime the police wanted to solve. They arrest the homeless man for murder. The characters are wonderful and the author’s writing is great. Andy, a reluctant attorney, is funny and is a partner in a dog rescue facility. They both work together to investigate and solve many crimes. The story is really great with mystery and devotion to help those in need, including animals. Highly recommend.
I love Andy Carpenter books. The first person narration by Andy, a reluctant lawyer, is funny and moves fast. Add the cast of familiar characters, including the mysterious and very tough Marcus, Andy’s partners in a dog rescue facility, his wanna be PI (a CPA computer wiz), and his own dog and family, and these books are great reads. How Andy solves and wins his cases is almost always good, as well. This particular entry in the series is especially fun and the mystery intriguing.
