The Mighty Storm (The Storm #1)

Several of the reviews mentioned cheating. Cheating comes in many forms and degrees. To some it could be a one time kiss, a stray thought or heavy petting so its hard to know sometimes what is really going on. So let me cclarify- and this is a bit of a spoiler alert- the heroine full out cheats. She has a boyfriend, Will, who shes been with 2 years. They are deeply in love and vow their love repeatedly. After a very short time on tour shes sleeping with Jake and spending every night with him. Shes also calling Will every night & lying to him, telling him she misses him & loves him. Her excuse is she loves them both & she doesnt trust Jake and doesnt want to lose Will if Jakes just using her. If it was a guy wed call them a dirty rat bastard cheater, right? Theyd be the bad guy in the story. Well, sorry, I cant like a character that justifies their actions because theyre confused, which translates to weak & selfish. I know this happens in real life but I read romance books for the escape. I get enough of spoilt & immature people in real life. I want the characters I read about to at have at least some moral compass. I finished the book but will be leery of reading anything else by this author.

Let me preface this review by saying I really liked this book…interesting characters, dynamic chemistry, and all the elements of a good rock star romance… but I have to question my sanity at times when I knowingly begin reading a book that drives me out of my ever loving mind….I know it going into the story that “This is rock and roll baby!” and that means drama, angst, and at times some of the most immature behavior known to man… that being said, I think I managed all of that rather well; what I did struggle with is when the heroine, Trudy, became a whiny, inconsiderate, needy character and hurts the two men she loves…this dynamic always drives me crazy in books…I literally want to slap these women upside their heads and say “Make a decision already and stop feeling sorry for yourself!!!”…let’s face it ladies, when it is the male character acting this way we want to do worse….luckily in this book that segment was rather short lived and the story progressed allowing me to reconnect to the characters and move on to the other rock star drama…all in all, if you love a solid rock star romance then this book is for you…I will certainly continue on with the series and see how the rest of the craziness plays out until this duo finds their HEA!!

This book was recommended by a friend and has sat on my kindle among at least 30 others for almost a month. A couple of things:

First, Im kicking myself for not reading this sooner. It wasnt from lack of want but lack of time. Well I basically INHALED this book! Jake Wethers…GAH! I have no words for how dang sexy and sweet he is!

Jake Wethers…your typical Rockstar; sex, drugs and music. Losing his best friend/bandmate sends Jake spiraling into a world of drugs and the party life that accompanies Rockstar life! It takes over his life until his other bandmates pull him back in after something horrible happens. Changing his ways, he agrees to a set of interviews. One being his childhood best friend/love…the one he had to move far away from when he was 14. Each being unsure the other would remember them, they do and quickly rekindle their friendship…problem though! He wants her back and she has a boyfriend..

Arrangements are made and she gets to spend more time with him than originally thought. The bond that was there all those years ago was never severed and every angsty filled moment makes you want MORE!

I fell for Jake, got angry, hated him, cried because of him and wanted him all over again throughout this book!

But life with Jake is not easy, and Trudy has a boyfriend. Could she give up her safe, loving boyfriend for the Mighty Storm, Jake Wethers?

A hot, hot, read that’s brilliantly written. Trudy Bennett’s voice was one of a kind and I found myself laughing out loud multiple times at the quirkiness of her behavior. The chemistry between the two was electrifying and I found myself cheering in their corner. The last 20 percent of the book did drag a bit, but overall, I still loved it.

Well now I have another book boyfriend to add to my list. Jake Wethers! I loved this story. Two kids that grew up together, in love with each other, but never telling the other. Jake had to move to the states at 14 leaving Tru behind in the UK. Fast forward 12 years later she is working for a Rolling Stones Type magazine and fate has allowed her to cross paths with Jake again as she has to interview him for her magazine. Hes only one of the most popular, hottest, sexiest musicians on the planet. Playboy, party boy reputation..drugs and alcoholyou know what comes with the lifestyle. One thing for certain is that they are head over feet in love with each other and it couldnt be more complicated. At first I thought it gave me Thoughtless feels, which I love, but I was wrong! Love, love this.
