Let me start by saying that I did enjoy this book… but there were a few bumps along the way. The premise is really interesting and thats whats caught my eye and made me buy the book.

I struggled with the beginning; it was a little slow and took me a few days to pretty much read through half of the book, because most of it seemed to be introducing characters, setting up the world and situations, and exposition of thoughts and feelings. But I finished the second-half in one sitting. The writing was pretty good, though I feel like more things were told than shown, but Im not gonna be too picky. The love felt a little insta-love-ish to me, and I would have liked to see more trust and friendship shown to me in a greater period of time, especially due to all the stuff thats going on in the world Ara has now joined. I speed read through some chapters just to get them over with and still felt like I understood everything, so that was a little disappointing as well.

I suspected The Dove was going to be an interesting character and I hope the author dives more into him and his story as this book series continues. I will most likely pick up the second book when it releases so I can keep up, but Im not having super high expectations. However, this is solely my opinion, and I can understand why the book has great ratings. I suggest you take a chance to see if you like it!

There is too much to say about this book but I will keep it short. The writing style is perfect, the characters are amazing and dynamic, the scenes and challenges created are amazing.
Nothing is rushed and growth is slow but that is what makes a decent book to a fantastic book. I never once didn’t believe or love the characters or their journey and you really get to know them.
One complaint though is how dare you not have more! I don’t think I can wait for the the next book to come out. This book may have been made for teens but as an adult I enjoyed it just as much.

I feel lost……Where is the next one?!?! Lol I loved this book so much. And then you leave me like that? I was initially intrigued by this book because of the female blacksmith hero. Thousands of fantasy and I have yet to come across this. I could have flown though this but I paced myself and savored it. And now…..I just wait…..

This was a 3 star for me which for me means i enjoyed the story but it lack some things. The pacing is slow but if you keep in mind a few things it makes sense. This is a quest book series. Which means our main character Ara has no knowledge of her abilities nor does she have anyone to give that information or education. She grown up with no knowledge of what a lore smith does beyond some stories she heard. From what i can figure with the information we have been given a Loresmith can never take action in violence for if they do they loose the ability or right to be come one. Though she is destined to become a loresmith she has to prove her self worthy to be chosen by the Gods for this honor. So this whole first book is her traveling on this quest to learn how to become the lore smith once she been chosen by the Gods.

Another thing to keep in mine is the author could of totally ruined this story by doing what i seen done before taking the first half of this book and rushing our character through her discovery and education and jumping right into the action of the story. We loose all the groundwork and typically get bored cause it feels like an info dump. I like the way the author actually is taking on this quest and we are learning right along side Ara, uncovering the clues with her companions and we also get the great opportunity to love those characters and not just the main one.

Trust me when you pick this one be ready to settle in and learn what it is to be a lore smith, what her farther missed passing on to her and what she will become at the end of this long tale. You will enjoy this story so much more if you keep these things in mind. The 3 rating is purely cause the slow journey irked me at times but we get lots of great clues and action at the end
