The Ruined Wife

I rarely leave a book unfinished, but Im having a string of bad luck. Two books in two days: each as unreadable as the other for different reasons. THE RUINED WIFE is so poorly written that Im not sure an editor could salvage it. One grammatical and punctuation rule after another is broken, and the book is so wordy that I had trouble finding the plot. The story never gets off the ground, and I succumbed after 100 pages.

I’m a huge fan of mystery/suspense books and I really think this one delivers on all the elements that can make a truly unique story that stands out and keeps one reading well into the night. I am not one to give spoilers, pick it apart every nuance, etc. I am merely letting other book lovers whether I like a book or not. I like this and give a thumbs up

An interesting plot but so many fillers….clothing worn, food and drinks consumed, decor of the bathroom…can’t imagine who would
be interested in this. Author needs to get on with the plot. Five stars were clearly given by authors friends and relatives….an old
Ploy used by first time writers. The bad reviews…hopefully the author can learn something from them. Also, foul language adds
nothing to the story…..

I skipped through some of this. The story sounded good when I picked it out, but… It revolved around sex, not much else,
and Alistair thought her husband was having lots of it. Some of the story wasn’t believable and the characters weren’t very developed, although I’ve known people that have about that much depth. Alistair’s anger was probably more about how could he cheat on beautiful me???? And the deal with messy buns, what was that about? It wasn’t the worst story I’ve ever read, so I gave it 2 stars.

A little on the long threaded side. I have not seen all the grammatical missers – may be because I did skip some when the man’s story begins. I just wanted to see what had been going on. But the story is breathtaking.
For those who only gave 2 stars : I am not a friend or relative of the author and I like the way she writes. I don’t think at all that she writes childish – seen way worse.
I also like the description of the wealthy house and the expensive clothes. Nothing wrong with that. Or the lavish party… some books have descriptions like this and then go nowhere. Don’t know if things like this happen in real life, but I guess they could.
