Lost Connections
What is the prime reason for anxiety and depression and what could be done to rectify this issue? The author himself suffered from excessive depression since his childhood. He started taking antidepressants when he was just a teenager. He was told by medical experts that his issue is triggered due to some chemical imbalance taking place in his brain. As an adult, he started to investigate whether this is right or wrong. He concluded that almost everything that he has learned about anxiety and depression is wrong.
Hari found numerous social scientists all across the world who were working on concluding that anxiety and depression are not due to a chemical imbalance in the brain. It is more associated with the way of our living today.
This book has got a title that will easily catch your attention especially if you have been struggling with depression and not so good with your relationships. The book covers mainly the personal story of Johann Hari and the explorations of the real reasons for depression. The content of this book would be worthwhile for many of us out there.
