A Treacherous Coast audiobook free
I have stuck with this series because I like historical fiction and naval fiction and I very much like the characters and storylines. The level of reluctance in John Pierce is fairly unique. I could definitely do without the endless compulsion to reiterate in endless detail background from previous books. There are many successful series that do quite well without it, at least to this degree.

Although there are series that I enjoy more, I have read all the Pearce series and will continue as the are released. It is a plus that Pearce is opening a new chapter without his old nemesis so I am looking forward to the next book.

Audiobook A Treacherous Coast by David Donachie
I believe Donachie is one of the best maritime fiction author’s. His command of the language and skill at plot development is excellent. There were few errors in his books, only missuse of words like appraise instead of appraise.
This is a good continuance of the story, but holds a couple of surprises in the telling, not least in the last 2 chapters…

Audio A Treacherous Coast narrated by Peter Wickham
I have read all the books in the series. This is slightly different as it deals with the relationship between John and the mother of his child. I prefer the books that have plenty of action in them. Although this still has some action in it and is still a good read. Looking forward to the next book in the series.

For man not wishing to be in the Royal Navy his has to make the best of it. Problem of being in the Navy at that time the ship Captain rule and his word is gospel, even if his wrong or act in cowardly manner.
The author continues to provide an interesting and amusing at times book. Easy reading and an insight into the period of Nelson.
