Its not the angsty, I cant make up my mind\” or love/hate book typical of young adult fiction, but a tenuous, tragic, harrowing look at devastated lives where hope, redemption and love win in the end. Theres so much authentic emotion that Evan and Denas story draws you in, ties your heart in knots and clings to your psyche long after the last page. Anna and Adena were both affected differently by their parents\’ deaths. Dena, being the older sister, was the responsible one who constantly tried to put the pieces back together as Anna went off the rails, always leaving a wake of destruction in her path. Evan was a lost soul who recognized the pain in Anna and tried to keep her in check, all the while quietly in love with Dena. A guy with a huge heart, he knew he wasnt good enough for Dena but thought that by trying to corral Anna it would free Dena up to realize her dreams and get out of their dead-end town. But of course, things didnt work out quite like he hoped. Evan and Dena are two of the most authentic, complex, troubled characters that Ive read about in a long time, and I couldnt help but love them. I was gutted as I watched Anna tear their lives apart, time after time, yet my heart went out to the troubled, toxic disaster that was Anna. Im not sure when Ive ever seen two people so deserving of their happily ever after, one that was ripped away so many times, and with so much heartache before finally being able to embrace their love and have a life together. This book will take you through every emotion possible as you experience Evan and Denas journey. It will leave you feeling a bit battered, but your heart will be full and happy as they find their forever. Dont miss this raw, heart wrenching, phenomenal, uplifting story! This is my first book by London Casey and Jaxson Kidman and definitely will not be my last. Damn real life for getting in the way of my reading. I did not want to put this book down. Past and Present… Present and Past… The what ifs… The second guessing… The secrets… Annas Dress is an emotional, earth shattering, heart breaking read. My poor heart wasnt going to survive. From Anna to Adena to Aunt Beth and even Evan – there were times I wanted to smack each and everyone of them though and times that they frustrated the living daylights out of me. If my family wouldnt have looked at me strangely I probably would have been yelling at my kindle. Total emotional overload but in oh such a good, ugly cry way (the freaking letter ). When Adena and Evans lives intertwine again will they be able to get beyond what happened in the past and move forward to a happy future? In Annas Dress you are taken back and forth between the past and present and learn the story behind Annas Dress. At the end of the day, this is a beautiful, gut wrenching story about Second Chances and how your life can change even when you think you have lost it all. Have you ever had a friend or loved one who is an attention seeker – whether its in a good way or bad? Well Anna is that one person – you want to feel bad for her, you want to smack her, you want to just wrap your arms around her and give her a huge hug and you also really want to hate her but deep down you cant. Like I said before this book is a total emotional overload kinda read – just gut wrenching for all involved. Then you have Adena – the good girl, the one always playing devils advocate and in the shadow of her baby sister. Can you see where the drama might come into play here? My heart ached for Adena while at the same time wanting to smack her head and tell her to stop being walked all over. Throughout the entire book I really didnt know whether to love or hate everyone single one of the characters. London Casey and Jaxson Kidman have written a BEAUTIFUL and HEARTBREAKING story. Another outstanding success from the two amazing authors who have previously brought us hits such as 5 Years Later and Dear Everly. Anna\’s Dress is an emotional second chance romance that alternates from the past to the present, adding depth and meaning to the story. The authors have also written the story from the point of view of both Adena and Evan. The characters are believable and relatable. The heartache, trials and tribulations the characters face, are experienced by people everyday. The chemistry between Adena and Evan is evident throughout. This book draws you in and keeps you hoping they will finally get their forever. Kidman and Casey have yet again left me speechless.

Oh the feels. Beautiful. If you\’ve read Dear Everly, it\’s right up there with it. We have Anna, Party Girl, may it be boys, stealing, booze or drugs. All round trouble maker. Constantly putting & letting her sister Adena & Aunt down, or does she not think of the consequences? Then there\’s Adena, Older Sister to Anna, Good Girl, outside looking in, in Anna\’s shadow, bails Anna out, cause she loves her, gets let down by Anna\’s behaviour & it gets reflected onto her, tries to take some of the pressure off their Aunt, who they\’ve lived with since their parents died, by getting a few jobs. For years she hides her feelings for Evan. Then we have Evan, drawn to Anna cause she has this edge to her, but it\’s Adena who\’s gotten his hearts attention. He thinks he\’s helping Adena by keeping Anna and himself away from her. Keeps Anna\’s secrets. Evan leaves their home town to work for his Uncle in his welding shop. After an accident and having enough of Anna\’s antics. Years later he gets word that Anna\’s passed so he returns for her funeral. Coming face to face with Adena. Will he reveal all of his & Anna\’s secrets? Will Adena find out things before Evan tells her? Time has passed between them. Please have tissues. I received a copy in exchange for an honest review.

Annas Dress is the first book I\’ve read by London Casey and Jaxson Kidman. This book is a standalone. I initially struggled to get into the story of Adena and Evan but stuck with it and I\’m glad that I did. I loved how the story went back to the past and showed the reader what happened between Adena, Evan and Anna. I really felt for Adena who seemed to always take on the maternal role when it came to her younger sister, Anna, and she often made sacrifices to ensure that Anna came first. As the story progresses, you\’re left with questions about what really happened in the past but the authors don\’t give you all the answers straight away and and this keeps you hooked. I also found myself unable to hate Anna who was often awful to Adena. I feel Anna would\’ve maybe turned her life around if she\’d received/sought the professional help she so cleared needed to battle her demons. I would definitely read other books by this co-writing team and recommend this book to anyone who has not yet read it.
