Enjoyed the story but here are a few things that kept me from loving it…

1. I love an alpha male, but Jace was over the top. If another male so much as looked at Audrey, he threatened to beat them up. What happened to our sweet Jace? I felt he was a ticking time bomb for most of this story.

2. Do these characters EVER use their cellphones? I don’t know how many times someone tried to contact a person and they ‘conveniently’ didn’t have their phone on them. This goes back to the first book, but many conflicts could’ve been solved if they called/texted one another. For example, when Audrey went to talk with Jace and stayed at his apartment for a few weeks. She waited and waited to talk with him, but because he hid out at Em’s place she never got the chance. Umm…why didn’t she send a quick text saying “Can we talk for a few minutes?” Jace was polite to her up to that point, he would’ve done it. But instead we get months upon months of avoiding each other.

3. I’m a sucker for HEA which is why I read romance. However, this was all wrapped up with such a nice, pretty bow that I had to roll my eyes. Everything turned out so perfectly for all of them so quickly that it didn’t seem believable to me.

I enjoyed seeing Jaxon and Emerson again, but there were a few things that kept me from giving this 5 stars. I will read Lane’s story because I do like this author.

I need a Jace in my life. I knew I was going to love Jace! Everybody has made mistakes in their life and I cannot explain how strong Audrey was. I admit, I was judgmental towards Audrey from the previous story. But Kimberly has done another outstanding job! She creates a character that everyone dislike, or likes to gossip about, because of their actions.

Beautiful Broken Mess made me laugh out loud at 3 in the morning, no regrets, and made me want to kick and scream! I just love everything about this book! Everybody has their stories and everybody judges a book by its cover, but the never want to know the story.

Words cannot express how much I love this book and how wonderful Kimberly painted such a beautiful picture.

This is a must read! Your heart with drop and tears with be shed. Laughter will present without you even knowing and before you know it, you’re already finished the book and you will be craving more!

Audiobook Beautiful Broken Mess by Kimberly Lauren

Twin Jace Riley met a girl on a sidewalk in his small hometown in Texas and is instantly smitten. She seems to feel the same. But later that night, when he searches the crowded room of a party he invites her to, he watches her walk up to his brother and kiss him soundly. If Jace had only gone up to them and corrected her mistake, this would have been one short book. Instead, he lets pride get in the way and before he knows it, his brother is married to Audrey in the shortest marriage on record. Audrey Mills fell in love with Jace at the same moment he did her but she didn’t see a way to tell him after she made the horrible mistake of sleeping with his brother. When she gets pregnant and says the baby belongs to Jaxton, she can’t face anyone in the family. But there’s so much about Audrey that no one knows. If fear hadn’t kept her silent, she and Jace might have been happy years earlier. Can they find the way to be happy now?

I liked this book a lot. The characters were full and the conflict real. We all have things in our past that we would rather hide under the rug rather than face, and that’s Audrey’s situation. My only problem was that Jacewho’s supposed to be the steadier of the two brothersseems to make some rookie relationship mistakes and has to be reminded over and over to get it right. It made me feel a little frustrated with him.

Audio Beautiful Broken Mess narrated by Eva Kantor

As soon as I saw Audrey was Jaces love interest in this book, I felt doubt about this story. Somehow the author made me like Audrey, explaining her side of the story, although some of the reasoning was thin. The Jace I knew from the first book seemed like a different character in this one, the saving grace was the rest of the gang. Jax accident was the only time I really felt anything in this story, although that was brutal. So to sum it up I never came close to loving this book or Audrey or this new Jace. Oh the ending was just so cheesy, three couples meeting at college, a year after, one couple is married with a baby, the other couple eloped and got married, then Jace and Audrey wedding and after the first kiss as a wedded couple she tells him she is pregnant. Of course they all have lots of money and building big houses close to each other and the men all work at the same company. I love a hea but this just felt too perfect.

I loved this book, i love how it kept all the characters we came to know and love in the first book. This book revolved around Jace and Audrey. Both have a chequered history. Audrey has led a horrific life and meets Jace one day and is instantly attracted to him, so she goes to meet him that night at a party. Jace arrives only to see her in the arms of his brother Jaxon (his twin brother) Unbeknown to Jace, Audrey has mistaken Jaxon for Jace, and doesn’t realise the mistake till the following morning. Feeling that she can never now have Jace she starts to date Jaxon, because spending time with him means she can avoid her horrific circumstances at home. I loved that Audrey was a strong woman, despite her circumstances and never really gives up or falters in her path to get out of her life and make things better.
Her and Jace meet up again a few years later, and the story continues, he’s never forgotter her, nor her him. There is so much in this book, with little twists and turns and never a boring moment, with great writing and the relationships between all the characters, really draw you in and feel part of their story. There is a few tears of sorrow to be had and a few heartbreaking monents and also plenty of heartwarming moments.
You will love Jace, Jaxon, Audrey and all the rest of the characters !!!!
All in all its an excellent read!!!

you wouldn’t have to read the first book to enjoy this one, but i’d recommend it, because its excellent too and you will already love the characters starting this one!
