Better Late Than Never audiobook free

“Better Late Than Never” is one of the best books in the Library Lovers series. Story deals with a 20-year-old cold case, and a book that’s returned on “amnesty day” in the Briar Creek Library. The novel is “Catcher in the Rye,” which was huge when I was a teen, and I loathed more than most of the readers in the book. So that made me chuckle. The novel coincides with the date of the cold case. Lindsey Norris, library director, gets caught up in things. By her own words, she’s a “buttinsky,” and the mystery has so many twists and turns. So do the relationships of the characters. Well done mystery on all venues. Highly recommended!

Cold case this time but one that still holds a lot of emotional heft for our Creekers. Lots of character development this round, including some new folks. And a pretty fantastic twist at the end.

Audiobook Better Late Than Never by Jenn McKinlay

I truly enjoyed this latest volume in the Library Lover’s Mystery series. It fulfilled the Head Librarian’s, Lindsey Norris’ romance and a twenty year old cold case murder that had stunned Briar Creek, Connecticut’s world.

The tale opens with the Library having a one day amnesty. Meaning any books or materials severely overdue could be returned without fines or replacement costs. To everyone’s shock a book, ‘Catcher in the Rye’ was returned almost exactly twenty years from the date of check-out. The sinister thing was…the person who checked it out was murdered later that same evening.

Was the murderer returning the book? Or, was someone wanting the case re-opened?

Since it is well known that Lindsey has detective DNA in her body…how could she resist the case? And, true to her nature…she doesn’t.

Audio Better Late Than Never narrated by Allyson Ryan

The only problem with reading any of Jenn McKinlay’s books is that when it’s over you have to wait for the next one. I love the Library Lover’s Mysteries and this is a great addition to the series. We get all the regular characters we know and love, and in this volume some additions that I hope will stay and also a very intriguing mystery. When a book is checked in on Lindsey’s first “amnesty day” that was checked out over 20 years ago Lindsey is curious as to who checked it out so with the help of Ms. Cole she finds out it was checked out by a young schoolteacher who was murdered on the day the book was checked out. This old case will not stay “cold”for long, as the police are tied up with a series of break ins it appears Lindsey is just going to have to ask a few questions, but how will this effect her renewed relationship with Sully? Hold on for a wild ride!!!!!!

Love this series and this was no exception. The tattoo covered new hire is settling in and that has the staid librarian upset. More so is that Lindsay has decided to hold an amnesty day to get all old books turned in. A prize is offered for the most delinquent and much to everyone’s shock it was checked out by a murdered teacher on the day she died! Was the killer the one who turned it in? Who is the killer? There were suspects but both had alibis and ruined lives to show for it basically banned from their home town. I had it figured out but still enjoyed the ride. Several secrets also make public announcements and characters get even better fleshed out.
