Boomerangers

Fun second chance story. The characters are well developed and easily likable. I mean, I didn’t love the FMC. At all. I don’t think I would be friends with her. (She’s quite unreasonable with how she treats the MMC at times, and her toddler is a potty-mouthed brat whom she doesn’t even try to guide otherwise. [I suppose that was supposed to be funny. I didn’t find it so.] And she was also shameless with her sexuality even in front of his parents, which I thought was terribly disrespectful of her given that it obviously bothered them. I found it a bit selfish and disturbing.)
But I liked him. I was a bit disappointed he let her treat him the way she did, even though he went out of his way to help her any time she needed it. And that’s why I’m not giving this book a 5 star rating. As a woman, I need to connect with and like the FMC (which I didn’t), and I like the man to be strong (he was–to an extent) and not be walked on–especially by the FMC (which he was.)
That said, my feelings toward the characters weren’t overly strong. Not to the point of me hating them or hating the story. It’s a fun, easy read.

Having never read this author I didn’t know what I would find. Let me tell you Boomerangers exceeded any and all expectations I had. Spencer is a single mother with three little boys from two different fathers who never stuck around. When she was younger and heading for college her childhood sweetheart, Cooper, suggested they breakup while in college. He said that neither of them had ever dated anyone else and perhaps they should expand their horizons. Spencer was devastated. Try as she might, she never got over him.

Many years later Spencer has lost her job. With no prospects on the horizon she and the boys move back home with her mother. And who else has moved back home? Cooper and he and his family live right next door. Spencer was determined not to fall back into his clutches but he had other ideas. Cooper realizes what a mistake he made back then. He let her get away once but he won’t let her go again.

Although they are only secondary characters, Spencer’s boys really steal the show. The twins, who are twelve years old, managed to give me a few laughs. The questions they could come up with for their age was something else. It was her two year old, Kyle, also known as Savage, who stole the show. When he met Cooper he took right to him and called him ‘his man’. Not being able to pronounce all his letters he called Cooper…Pooper. That is just a hint of what a joy that child is.

As you might have guessed I loved every minute of this book and didn’t want it to end. I am already to start Doppelgangers by this author and I can only hope it is as good as this one was.

I laughed out loud…a lot!!! I cried because of the emotional overload. Gah…I LOVED SPENCE AND COOP!!! Incredible characters and a second chance love story you wont ever forget.

They fell in love in high school. She thought it was forever, until he cut her loose and broke her heart. Their living apart was never supposed to be forever.

Life happened and three kids later, Spence is back in her home town. An amazing single mom looking to start over after losing her job as a sex therapist. Small town life doesnt change much, but she wasnt ready for Cooper.

Back home to take over the law firm once his father retires, Cooper doesnt expect Spencer. She aas the ine he let get away. Even a short marriage. Followed by a divorce couldnt remove her from his heart.

Spence isnt looking for any strings. She has no problem taking Coop for a ride just like old times, but thats it. Shes a mom first. Every man in her life has let her and her kids down, shes not willing to take that kind of risk.

Cooper is willing to take ehst he can get. However, as he sprnds more time with her and the kids, what hes eilling to setlle for is about to change.

This story is ALL THE FEELS! Its incredible chemistry and sneaky, hot & dirty sexy times! Its unconditional love and forgiveness. Its a hilarious two year old and curious pre-teen boys that will give you endless comic relief. Its sweet and emotional and I LOVED IT! The author writes with heart and handles the reality of life with humor and levity, but never shys away from emotion. Definitely on my list of favorites.

Ok before I begin, if you havnt one clicked you really really need to immediately.
This was my first book by this author and I couldnt put it down until the end.
I can relate having grown up in a village to everybody knows your business practically as it happens, which in Spencer and Cooper having many sexual embarrassing moments.
Cooper and Spencer grew up together and loved each other all their lives until Cooper made the biggest F#cked up decision years ago to take a break in their relationship.
Fifteen years later and two failed relationships for Spencer and one for Cooper theyre both back home living with their respective parents homes next door to each other again, Spencer with her twin teens and toddler.
Spencer’s very guarded and against a relationship after he dumped her out of the blue when they were teens because it broke her and now her kids would also be in the mix of heartbreak. Her parenting choices and challenges are too funny, her toddlers name is Savage for good reason, but dam he made the whole story hilarious and a favorite read for me.
Everybody with kids will have stories but this boys life is just a blast.
I really liked the secondary characters of Gina the best friend who has no filter, their parents and thought they made this a full rounded read.

What can I say apart from I’ve been meaning to read this book for ages and I finally got round to doing just that. Oh boy how I loved reading this story of a second chance romance that was sweet, angsty and so so funny. As soon as I started reading the characters I connected with them instantly, I really enjoyed getting to know them all immensely.

So this tells the story of Spencer and Cooper who were once sweethearts from their college days but broke up, or rather Cooper broke up with Spencer and left her heartbroken. Fast forward 3 kids later by two different fathers and a collection of broken relationships by them both and they have now both moved back home to the town the were raised. Of course neither one knew the other was moving back so it came as somewhat of a suprise to them both to find that all of those feeling that had faded have now returned full force; but not without some complications.

I was addicted to his story as soon as I started it, I knew I was going to love it. Spencer is a feisty protective Mum with three gorgeous kids, the youngest Kyle was an absolute little darlin to read. He was so so cute and came out with some hilarious one liners, the two older boys, well my heart went out to them many a time.
Cooper is just sexy and gorgeous and has a great sence of humour that made me smile a lot. He wanted Spencer back and I had to admire the guy for his persistence and determination.

I cannot review this book without mentioning the chapter where Cooper looks after Kyle and he has to change his diaper. OMG I literally had tears of laughter running down my face it was so funny, in fact this whole book centres around the family circle as a whole and humour and it works perfectly.
Having read a few other books from this author I knew I wouldn’t be disappointed. This book was a great read and wonderfully written. Excellent stuff !!!
