Cerulean Sins

I’ve read all the preceding books in the series and this one was the worst of the lot. Unfortunately, the series has drifted away from its mystery/action core and settled into more of a pornographic series. The emphasis is less on the character, less on what seems to have been the overall plot, and more on the sex and the heroines inner struggles over her many relationships. All to say, boring and tiresome. And from the reviews of the following titles in this series, the porno focus continues to grow while all other plot lines diminish. So, I’m finished with this series.

I really like to see adults make their family of choice and work through all of life’s unforeseen trauma and problems. This is a very hopeful book. I had the pleasure of reading this book again while my country is in a pandemic with the whole world and I found this book to be a wonderful excape and an even better comfort. Seems strange to me and it’s the truth, just do not know how to explain why, the Anita Blake Vampire Hunter Series makes me feel better. Thank you, Laurel Hamilton your work is amazing.

I’ve read all of Laurell K Hamilton’s Anita Blake, the Vampire Hunter and Merry Gentry series books several times. I have them in hardback and paperback. Now I’m getting them in ebook, kindle form. The books are so entertaining that each time I read them I admire the author more. So creative, fun, detailed, exciting and fast paced. I know the books but each reread is still amazing and engrossing. This book is the starting point of Anita excepting the ardeur because of the power she gains from it to help those she loves. When she isn’t fighting bigots, chauvinist and her inner demons she’s kicking bad little vampire butts because she’s the Vampire Executioner.

As usual for Anita, just when it seems that some semblance of order has come into her life, A glimpse of normalcy even, evil in the form of wicked Barbie invades Jean Claude’s territory shattering the tentative peace of everyone in her life. Centuries of planned revenge is unleashed because a new jealousy has pushed that rage over the edge into a laser focused attack that will take someone’s life. But who’s?

Well I took other Anita readers suggestion and have not bought another book in this series. It kills me because I soooo LOVED Anita and what she did in the beginning. Now I hate to waste my money on crappy sex stories. It kills me – I was so excited that there were over 20 books that I was going to bury myself into and not have to worry about if I would like them or not. OOPS, guess I was wrong. If I see a review of one of the later ones that may be a little more like the beginning, I will try it. For now, I suggest you do the same and , unless her sex is a good read for you, don’t bother continuing… :O( sad vampire hunter reader
