I enjoyed Noah and Alexis as characters. The process of going from best friends to more is process rife with complications. I think it important you read the previous books otherwise some of the references aren’t going to mean as much like the survivors group and some of the book club references. My problem was really with Alexis being found by a half sister through DNA match. Alexis had a very hard life with a single mother who died of cancer. Her half sister finds her and wants her to donate a kidney to her dying extremely wealthy father who made his money in sketchy military contracts. When she agrees to test and meet with the family and she is basically thrown out since half sister went against dads wishes and noone else in family knew about her. Dad comes to her cafe to apologize and she throws him out. She decides to go ahead with kidney transplant. Half sister Candi, yep that’s her name, comes to hosp and brings an album of her family. That’s where I tap out. I have a real problem with noone saying WTF Candi. Back Off. I get maybe going through with the kidney thing cause I probably maybe would knowing a someone would die. But I hate the whole redemption family trope. I’m not gonna read to see how it comes out. Noah and Alexis find each other I’m good. Dont care about excuses on why they didnt contact her 3 years ago before the kidney failure. Blood doesnt mean family and a fling years ago while you are “on a break” with your fiance that you didnt tell said fling about doesnt give any rights to a relationship later in life. I dont care if they all get together in the end cause I would tell the whole group to f off. Here is a kidney, glad you didnt die, get out of my life again. Like I said lots of triggers for me. The book club talks about reading books that you dont like because its the journey to redemption and the HEA that matters. For me life is too short and there is too much crap going on in the world to put up with self absorbed Candies of the world. I would like to find out about Alexis’s problems with the antique shop across the street but not enough to continue the book.

I fell in love with The Bromance Book Club and I was really looking forward to this book with the geeky tech Noah. Unfortunately this one was my least favorite. I’m starting to feel like Lyssa Kay Adams only can write men with the same personality. From the previous book, Undercover Bromance, I imagined Noah to be a shy geek and honestly he was written just like Gavin and Mack from the two previous books. Alexis was a great female character and I was very involving with her emotions and feelings but this book was very lack luster for me.
SPOILER ALERT – Once these two get together it’s three chapters of them having sex and then Alexis’s journey becoming a kidney donor for her newly found father. After they got together it was really hard for me to get through the rest of the book. Again I think this was mostly due to the few chapters between these two climax’s that had me so bored.
That being said, I heard the fourth book is going be based off the Russian (character in the series.) and I am really looking forward to that!

Audiobook Crazy Stupid Bromance (Bromance Book Club #3) by Lyssa Kay Adams
I absolutely loved the Bromance Book Club. I enjoyed Undercover Bromance. But this one was a chore to slog through. One thing that made the Bromance Book Club work for me was that it wasn’t one-sided- Thea and Gavin both had their flaws and their good points. Then you get a little less realistic in the second one where Liv was kind of annoying and prickly, but Mack was a little too perfect. This book took that to the next level. Noah is portrayed as the world’s greatest guy and his only real flaw is that he didn’t express his feelings soon enough. They make sure to tell you this over and over- he can’t believe more guys don’t give oral sex, he wouldn’t dream of having her have to throw out the condom after sex, etc. He’s pretty much her doormat through the entire book. Also, they were “best friends” who spent every day and night talking and were both secretly attracted to each other but never acted on it at all? I didn’t really like Alexis in Undercover Bromance, and she didn’t improve much in this book. Also, there was not nearly enough of the Bromance Book Club- it as all “here is Mack being the most sensitive groom ever planning a wedding” and none of the fun of the first two.
Additionally, I’ve noticed the author likes to re-use phrases during the sex scenes. In the first two books, it was “plundered her mouth with his tongue” that appeared 4 times in 2 books, I believe. This time it was describing Alexis’ “swollen numb” twice in three pages. We get it, the sex was mindblowing because Noah and Alexis are perfect human beings.

Audio Crazy Stupid Bromance (Bromance Book Club #3) narrated by Andrew Eiden
Crazy Stupid Bromance is a sweet and satisfying friends-to-lovers romance. Once again, one of the books biggest highlights is Lyssa Kay Adams exposure of toxic masculinity and fragility. Her writing, while hilarious and light, is also an empowering combination of truths and values that are always enjoyable to read.
I really like Alexis and Noah as characters. Theyre both a little dorky, occasionally awkward, and the best kind of best friends. The comfortable dynamic between them is established from the beginning and is a wonderful foundation to their romance. I also love that both have grounding pasts. It adds a layers of realism to a book that could easily be all rainbows and sunshine. The book is a bit of a slow-burner, but its worth the wait. I just wish their journey developed into something a little deeper.
The flow in Crazy Stupid Bromance is quite hit and miss. One minute, the plot is engaging. Then the next, its almost stagnant. I really like the friends-to-lovers narrative, but didn’t care for the family-based storylines despite it playing a heavy role. In fact, it felt like this took centre stage over the love story. Alexis long-lost sister and family are unlikeable with no redeemable qualities! Im a fan of the series, so theres no way this would be a DNF. But this side of the plot let it down and its definitely my least favourite so far.
I enjoyed this book, but its underwhelming in comparison to the first in the series, which is my favourite. Fortunately, Alexis and Noah are easy to root for and were my primary motivation for reading. Additionally, Lyssa Kay Adams contemporary style is always an uplifting treat. The Bromance Book Club didnt feature as I would have liked, but its always nice to revisit this endearing group of friends.

Alexis who runs a cat cafe and recently came forward about being a survivor of sexual harassment by her ex employer because of this her cafe has become a place for others to come for support. A woman has been coming in and staring at Alexis for a while they eventually get to talking and Candi claims to be her sister. Shocked and upset she ring her best friend Noah who she also has romantic feelings toward for his help.
Noah is a hacking genius who got caught as a teenager and has since turned his life around. He earns plenty of money, has great friends, owns his house and is in love with Alexis. Throughout the book he’s her rock because what are friends for!
Overall this was a 4.5 read for me, it could have been 5stars but honestly Lexas newfound family gave me bad vibes. The fact that she just believed these new people and let me reel her in after such a short period of time frustrated me because Noah never gave her a reason to doubt him.
The friends to more aspect was done really well, no matter what neither of them wanted to ruin their friendship even though they both wanted more. The relationship was good once it got started and I love the protective cat beefcake
The bromance aspect which I normally love I found a bit tiring this time because Noah was being sensitive and the guys gave him all the blame which was a bit much in my opinion. Sometimes the man isn’t the one who messes up and responsibility needs to be taken by the woman as well, two-way street people.
