Another fantastically funny read in Tara Sivec’s The Holidays series. This is the second book in the series, but if you haven’t read A Stocking Was Hung then you must read it first. After the Christmas holiday fiasco, the Holiday family is now faced with more pandemonium as Valentines Day approaches.

“We really need to establish a safe word when we speak.”
“Your father’s safe word is donuts. But it’s always so confusing. I never know if he wants me to stop spanking him or if he’s just hungry.”
“DONUTS! DONUTS! DONUTS!”

As always Noel’s family doesn’t have a filter when sharing information. Even though Sam proposed to her at Christmas, she’s doubting whether it was real or not. Because of these doubts, she is still living with her parents. Every time she goes to talk to him about it something insane always happens like nipple piercings, a job interview on “X” and pole dancing to name a few.

“Your mother is getting the hang of looking like someone having a stoke in the middle of an awkward pole dance and everyone feels too bad to make her stop.”

This book will have you laughing out loud just like the first book. While reading this I couldn’t help but think this would make a great movie if we add the wedding to it. I’m really hoping we get a book about the wedding filled with all of the crazy mishaps that could and will take place. *fingers crossed*

MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS – God I love this author, sometimes the humor is way over the top, too much, but in this series she hits my funny bone just perfectly! I adore Sam & Noel & their instant-love-at-the-airport story, a fake engagement now a real one…or is it? It seems that our clever & hot couple are not communicating like they should – Sam insists he did formally propose but Noel isn’t so sure the ring on her finger is real. Noel has to get out of her parent’s house – they hit a new level of crazy mixed with horny and baked! But without a job to support herself Noel can’t see accepting Sam’s offer to live with him – ie, sponge off him. There is a great side story about their best friends who have a fling & end up in serious territory, but how they handle it is pure Tara Sivec. There are a few hot & heavy moments involving toys from Claire & Liz’s sex party – so nice to have them involved! And Sam is hiding some of his “research” – erotic books written by our favorite authors. There is no shame in that Sam! There are so many dark naughty books out there right now & I’m getting burned out – we need more of the Holidays & their sexual fun & games!!

This story had me cracking up, as is the usual whenever I read something by Tara Sivec. I really love this new series of Holiday stories and LOVE Noel and Sam. I was so excited to learn that a new story was coming out with these crazy characters and it didn’t disappoint. This time it was all hearts and flowers with Sam and Noel in a Valentine’s Day themed story and all the odd, craziness that comes with a family like Noel’s family. Her parents and aunt/uncle are out of control inappropriate and had me laughing out loud through most of the book. Sam (man do I love him) is just so perfect. He’s funny, charming, awkward, sweet and super hot – he had me smiling, laughing and swooning all at the same time. Noel was hilarious and I truly feel bad for her and what she had to grow up with – I’d be scarred for life with her family. I really enjoyed the new editions of Alex and Scheva, Sam and Noel’s best friends, and was soooo excited to have Liz and Claire (Chocolate Lovers Series) make an appearance.
Overall this was a fantastic story and highly recommend it!!!!

First off, if you need to have a good laugh and want a whack-a-doodle of a book, then I highly recommend that you read Cupid has a Heart-On by Tara Sivec. To be honest, I have always found Meghan Quinn’s books hilarious but OMFG – this was like a whole new level. I was laughing so hard from page #1. This book was pure and utter craziness, and you just can’t help laughing at the antics of all these characters. I have to say Grandma Mazur and Stephanie Plum’s family have nothing on The Holidays. If it wasn’t one thing, then it was another, and there is no pausing in the laughter either as every page has you in stitches. In Book #2 Noel and Sam are moving from fake engagement to a real relationship, but with this family sex and crazy is part of their everyday vocabulary. From Aunt Bobbie who is a woman now to the Sex Parties to Noel’s crazy sex-fuelled parents and then, of course, I went Awh when Sam’s secret was discovered haha. If you are single this Valentine’s Day and needing something like a crazy book to cheer you up and make you feel less lonely, then check out Cupid has a Heart-On and trust me, readers after reading this book if you thought your family put the fun in dysfunctional – think again.

Although we only met Sam & Noel at Christmas, I’m sure I’m not the only one who loved their unconventional love story. When Tara announced we would get a Valentine story – couldn’t wait.
It’s rude, crude, laugh out loud & maybe pee yourself a bit, romp of a book. All the amazing characters from The Holidays 1 are there, we meet a few new & get a visit from 2 of Tara’s best characters.
5 stars, 10/10 – miss at your peril!
