Digital Minimalism is a book on career success. It is all about having a much-focused life in this very noisy world. The book is written by Carl Newport. He is an Associate Professor in the Computer Science Department at Georgetown University. He has also written six nonfictional books which are mainly focused on career success and academics. One of his books with strong content on career success is So Good They Can’t Ignore You. Another one with a great message for the audience is his A World Without Email.
The narration of this chapter is done by Will Damron and Cal Newport. They seemed to be unfit for narrating such a book. Their voice was quite monotonous and it sounded robotic as well.
Digital Minimalism
You will find the digital minimalists all around us. They are the happy and calm people who are capable of having those long conversations with no weird glances on their cell phones. They have got the potential to get lost in one of their favorite books or perhaps in a special morning run. They are the ones who could have great fun with their family and friends with no real urge to have that experience recorded. They are always at the top of their game and stay well-informed about all the special news of the day. But, they never feel overwhelmed with this. They don’t have that fear of missing out as they know very well about the activities which provide them with the required satisfaction.
The author in this chapter comes with very interesting and compelling arguments. This book is a very critical reminder of the fact that why we require to have a full track of our time.
