Annette Marie knows how to get the blood pumping through my veins. I just finished reading Druid Vices and a Vodka and I am still on the edge of my seat feeling like I can’t breathe. It’s a glorious feeling and Marie does it to me every time.

I absolutely love how the plot thickens in each additional book that she releases in a series. She is such a master at crafting a story and I am always amazed by how calculated the plots are in her stories. It’s more than an art form, it’s almost fracking magical. Marie reveals just the right amount of information to shock us, satisfy us, and yet still have us wanting more. She truly blows my mind with her expert storytelling.

With every book in this series, we learn more and more about this incredibly detailed fantasy world. The world-building is really exceptional. Marie doesn’t overwhelm us with information about the world but gradually introduces us to things. The world-building from each book builds off of what came in the previous book.

This book is really hard to review without spoilers, but don’t worry because I won’t let anything slip. I’ll just say that some of the characters have some great character development. We get to see sides of some characters that we haven’t seen before which is really illuminating. There is a lot of emotion where the characters are concerned in this installment of the series. We see an array of different emotions from different characters and we get to see the true colors for some characters because of how they deal with these emotions. I can honestly say that my fragile heart almost couldn’t take it. Revelations for certain characters were really hard to handle and I don’t think that I have ever anticipated a sequel more than I want the next book of this series.

Overall, this is an emotionally charged addition to this series. By the time you reach the end of this book, you won’t know entirely how to feel because there will be a plethora of emotions tangled up in your chest. While this book answers many questions it also raises more of them. This is a cast of characters that absolutely capture your heart. I honest to goodness can’t recommend this book and series enough. If you are looking for an author that will thoroughly enchant you then you should pick up one of Annette Marie’s books and hop along this bandwagon for the ride of your life. Enjoy Marie’s latest release and I’ll see you folks for the next book!

I received an Advance Reader Copy at no cost from the publisher/author. All opinions in my review are my own.

How can a person write a review on this book? Ive been finished with it for hours and Im still so shook I cant think straight. Ohmygoodness. This was freaking EPIC.

I mean, Annettes books are always pretty fast paced and action packed, but THIS? This took that to a whole new level. Poor Tori needs a long vacay in the Bahamas with her personal cabana boy (ahem, Ezra) and lots of time in the spa. She goes from one stressful, action packed escapade into another without anytime to catch her breath in between.

And the feels. Ohmygoodness the feels are such a roller coaster. As usual, she balances the agony with humor, and some sultry moments. So much happens, I cant believe she fit it all into one book and it didnt feel like it was rushed. She managed to give equal time to all our favorite characters while developing the whole story, including time with Robin (who has grown some serious backbone… kinda… Im really proud of her).

The wait for the next Demonized book in April is going to be agony, and so much more for Toris next adventure in July. We have been seriously spoiled with Annettes rapid fire releases, and now I dont know what Im going to do. Reread all the books over, and over, and over, and over… And probably make a diagram of important moments/character/items to reference as I move along.

This series is so RICH, and each book so detailedIm in bliss. I love it. Its agonizing, and perfect, and I cant get enough. Every book just gets better, and this is no exception, even with all the gut wrenching twists.

I dont think Ill be able to sleep tonight. I kinda wanna reread it again right now. Get it, get them all, you wont regret it.

Audiobook Druid Vices and a Vodka (The Guild Codex: Spellbound #6) by Annette Marie

It’s a 4.5 for me.

A lot happens, thank goodness. I’m always excited when it’s nonstop action for Tori. Or in this case, worry. She’s got a handful of problems leaving the station in separate directions and if she doesn’t get to them, she’ll be soon saying goodbye to them… and the good things that go with it. That was a recurring thing throughout the book but in spite of others’ involvement, the main people here were Tori and Zak, who have an old problem to rectify. Only this time Zak’s intentions are being questioned and their friendship is tested. I totally cried in the end, by the way, so prepare for that.

I liked the writing. Tori was a little loopy in this one and hilariously so. I loved the new things I learned, I always enjoy the series more when the C&H are involved and present. Definitely a lot of LOL moments, but also a lot of seriously sad ones. I enjoyed this book but it felt more like a bridge for the next epic part in this series, though at the same time, I feel like each problem will be addressed accordingly or one thing will be the dominant topic and the rest will be handled in the background. Either way, I’m curious to get some answers from some very long-time issues.

Audio Druid Vices and a Vodka (The Guild Codex: Spellbound #6) narrated by Cris Dukehart

I feel like I waited a lifetime for this book and I devoured it in a few short hours. Annette is amazing at keeping the action going, while still making it, sitting at the edge of your seat entertaining.

After reading, I wanted to read it again because I wasn’t ready for it to end (I may have reread a couple of scenes immediately). This book is definitely to best one yet, Tori kicks ass as usual and her mages are no exception. I don’t have the same to say for a particular druid, he needs a good talking to! You get an insight into Zak and Kai past which is great for the story, but adding more heartbreak to Tori’s already long list of troubles. I can not wait for July!

I can’t wait for more of this series. I devoured this one in just a day or so. As always there’s plenty of action, a hint of romance and more than a hint of mystery. If you want an excellent author to read just read everything Annette Marie writes.
