Flare Up (Boston Fire #6)

The Boston Fire series has been one of my most favorite firefighter series that I have read. It has so much sense of family, support, and amazing characters with great chemistry. I love how the characters seem real and can be someone that you may actually know in real life. Grant and Wren have a complicated relationship, until a fire brings them back together. Wren left Grant after dating for 5 months or so and just called it off. Grant was never given the real reason why, until after a terrible accident that had Grant saving Wren’s life. Wren has a past she wants to stay away from. An ex-boyfriend that is trying to track her down and when he comes back into her life, she runs away from everyone she loves because of her exes past actions. She does not want another person getting hurt. Wren and Grant have great chemistry, heat up the sheets, and are meant to be together, but can this ex ruin everything? Will he hurt those that Wren loves the most? Will Grant be her forever? Grant knows that Wren’s ex can’t hurt him, but trying to convince Wren of that is very challenging. She is very fearful and does not want anyone hurt, which he understands, but can he convince her that he will protect her and let nothing happen to her? Loved this series, sad to see that it has come to an end or so it seems with the way the epilogue ended. I can’t wait to see what Shannon has in store for her next series!

I love this firemen series so much and hope it never ends! The characters are so real and the stories are very interesting to me. Grant and Wren had a previous relationship until something prompted Wren to leave. They meet again in a fire in a run down hotel. Grant has questions but he can’t help the strong feelings he still has for her. Wren remembers their strong attachment to each other but struggles to explain to him why she left.

The ending to the Boston Fire series was perfect. Grant had been so in love with Wren when she disappeared. Dealing with her abandonment took a toll on him – and the guys on his crew. When he found her he wasn’t sure hot to deal with it. Wren had been terrified and ran – even though it broke her heart. Following these two as they worked their way back to each other was heartbreaking at times. They had been through so much together and apart. I thoroughly enjoyed their story and loved the ending. As Kincaid’s was a constant in the series it was great to see it all end there.

Love this series of the guys & girls of Boston FD and Kinkaids pub! This is Grant and Wren’s story. 5 mths ago, Wren had abruptly broken ip with Grant…just when he was getting ready to propose…and she disappeared without a trace. That is, until one night when, on a call, Grant rescues Wren from her burning apartment building. Even as Grant tells himself to stay away, after all he’s still nursing his broken heart…he can’t help but care and is helping Wren recover. But Wren’s past has caught up with her and no one is safe. Is there an HEA in the future for this latest couple in the BFD family?

I was eagerly awaiting Grant’s story and SS didn’t disappoint. We get updates on the crew from Boston Fire and their families. I enjoy that more than the actual love story. If you haven’t read the Kowalski series, read those too. SS does a great job with connected stories that feature families.
