I read this page-turner in less than 48 hours. I couldn\’t put it down. And then I sent a copy to my sister. That alone says a lot, but I loved that this is a book by a comedian with a real story to tell and the skills to tell it like a memoirist. I don\’t want to post any spoilers, but let\’s just say Schaefer has lived a truly unusual life and tells her story in an original way. I have been a fan of her comedy for years, but unlike many comedian memoirs, this was clearly written (very) personally and not by a ghostwriter. There is absolutely no filler. It\’s a peek into the brain of a truly original person on an amazing journey. Even if you\’re not familiar with her comedy (yet), you\’ll become a fan. One of the best books of the year.

This book had me laughing out loud from the very first chapter. I stumbled across this book somewhere in my travels online, had no idea what it was or who the author was, but I was looking for a new book to read and thought it sounded like a fun read since i love the Grand Canyon. What i never expected was for it to be so funny, so inspirational, and so darn relateable. Felt like i was reading my own life story in so many of these chapters. Outstanding writing, humor and entertainment. I loved this book so much i\’m going to gift it to my sister. Highly recommend!

Audiobook Grand: A Memoir by Sara Schaefer
I have not been able to stick with a book for a decade Im just too wishy-washyand too many distractions I suppose…but I simply could not put this book down! Sara Schaefer\’s \’Grand\’ oscillates from hilarious to tender and from her rafting trip to her childhood with such grace and so naturally that I am in shock this is her first book?! I initially heard her on a podcast then started following her online, and she is a witty storyteller who infuses her tales with poignant personal nuggets that just instantly made me want to be her friend because many of the thoughts, fears, and quirky observations that are in her head are knocking around in mine also! This book is a joy to read and I already am mourning how much I will miss it when I am done reading it which at this unprecedented rate (for me) will be soon. I hope she writes more books!

Audio Grand: A Memoir narrated by Sara Schaefer
The best memoirs are brutally honest, interesting, detailed, entertaining, and — at least in part — funny. This memoir hits all those marks, and is a fully satisfying and enjoyable read. Sara Schaefer (who I had never heard of until Sarah Cooper mentioned this book on Twitter) is a very good writer, and this book is well worth checking out!

Grand is one of those books that you don\’t want to end, but at the same time, you can\’t help but finish. An important read for all women, and anyone dealing with grief, loss, or just fear of not being good enough. Schaefer is a phenomenal writer and an excellent storyteller. Reading this book makes you feel that you too have traveled through the Grand Canyon, while also going along for the equally bumpy ride of Sara\’s life so far. I cannot recommend this book enough.
