Every new book Milly Johnson writes is a total joy to read and savor.
Unlike all those book blurbs that shout about heartwarming, feel-good stories but turn out to be disappointingly sicky-sweet and silly, this book is TRULY heartwarming and feel-good with marvelous characters (a sort of ensemble cast of 6), romance, lots of Milly’s best snarky dialogue, and a bit of magic thrown into the mix as well. Per usual, Johnson handles some tough subjects with grace, understanding, and humor so you may get a bit choked up at times but it’s SO worth it. AND yes, I’m gushing but get over it people, I’m a total Milly Fan Girl!
There was so much to take in that I’m going to go back and read it again to pick up on all that I missed the first time around.
Second read: Enjoyed it even better the second time. It was so much fun to pick up on all the clues I missed the first time around.

I consider myself so fortunate that the cover of White Wedding caught my eye in WHSmith while on holiday in London a few years back. I had no way of knowing then, but that book started my love affair with Milly Johnsons writing style! I now own multiple copies of every book shes released and can I hardly wait for the next one to be released.
Ive been anticipating I Wish It Could Be Christmas Every Day since Milly first announced it in her newsletter, and Im fortunate to have a UK iTunes account so I can get the book ahead of its release in the US. I say this with every release of Millys, but they truly get better and better with each book she puts out. This one has taken up its place as my favorite at this point, which also seems to happen with each new book!
I dont want to spoil too much for you because I thought this book was particularly magical, but its about the Figgy Hollow Six three pairs of people who are interconnected but end up stuck in the Inn due to a freak snow storm. Theres Bridge and Luke, exes who are trying to end their marriage, Mary and Jack, a PA and her boss, and theres Robin and Charlie, a married couple who are on their way to a posh vacation when they become unable to continue. The book, unlike most of Millys, is about all six of the people stuck in Figgy Hollow and how they somehow become a makeshift family just in time for Christmas. Its unique in that its telling the story of all six characters throughout the whole book, and honestly the twists and turns that are made while Mary is pining for Jack who is oblivious to her feelings, Bridge and Luke are trying to come to terms with who they were vs who they are now and the path they took to get to the point where theyre okay with these changes, and Robin and Charlies path as Robin prepares to say goodbye to his husband are so unique that this book had a very special place in my heart almost from the get-go.
I love when Milly adds a bit of supernatural kinds of magic to her books, and this one has just that in it. By the end of the book, I found myself wishing that I was one of the Figgy Hollow Six and I found myself sad to say goodbye to all these characters who had filled a special place in my heart. I would highly recommend this story to everyone who loves a heartwarming Milly book (and a heartwarming one in general! You dont have to be familiar with Millys other books to fall in love with this one) and I can already tell you that this will join the ranks of those books that I will reread often when Im looking for something comforting and special. Bravo, Milly youve done it again!

Audiobook I Wish It Could Be Christmas Every Day by Milly Johnson
A wonderful story with engaging characters that feel like friends that you get to know as they get to know each other. I laughed out loud and sobbed my heart out, which as my mother would say, is a sign I got my moneys worth. If this ever makes it to Audible in the US, I will be purchasing it there too, for the sheer enjoyment of having it read to me.

Ive read pretty much all of Mileys books, and enjoyed them all very much. But for whatever reason, I just didnt care for this one. I felt that it dragged on for far too long, it could almost have covered all the necessary plot points in a short story. I actually got so bored and fed up with the incredibly one dimensional characters that I skipped over the last 20% or so of the book and just read the final couple of chapters. Yawn.
