Initiated (Kings of Miskatonic Prep #2)

There were parts of the book that were very confusing. Spoiler alert to follow. So during initiation Ayaz sister Zehra helps Hazel and says she seen Courtney draw a sigil on the wall to summon a demon to feed on Hazel… Then when they return later she claims it was the Rebecca\’s sigil who is supposed to have gone rogue. There is just so many twists its hard to follow but the few I could follow were good. I\’ll definitely be checking back for the third book to see her get her revenge. I hope she makes the parents burn for what they did …. Like a trade off to give the kids back their lives.

I devoured the first book in this series, Shunned, and then dived into this one thinking that maybe I would slow down with it a little.I lied to myself big time and knew it by the time I hit the third page of the first chapter. Steffanie has crafted a plot with so many insane layers that I found myself, once again, sucked into the insane world of Miskatonic Prep and not coming up for air until I completed this installment. This story is packed with everything from ghosts, ghouls, evil parents and school staff/students, a crazy evil god, and more. Hazel still has me rooting for her as she finds out more of the history of this insanely dark school along with her plans for revenge against her bullies and how to defeat something thats older than timeshe also learns that the true evil to fear is not what is under the school, but who funds it. This girl doesnt lose her wit, snark, or bravery – no matter how hard the situation may be – and I love that about her so much. Ayez, Trey and Quinn all broke my heart when their truths came to light and I was happy to see the three of them do some things to get on the road to redemption – but its definitely a pothole ridden one. I loved how the chemistry seemed to explode between Hazel and her boys as the plot grew more tense as well. I would like to deem Steffanie as a cliffhanger queen though, because this one is definitely one I didnt see coming. I love how this author has laid out the plot, its unfolding beautifully, and the characters are fantastically built (no matter how evil they may be). This story is dark, evil and so hot – I cant get enough of it. I already downloaded the next book to dive back in, I am salivating over

Like the first book, I enjoyed this one as well. There were times it kind of dragged, and the \”turn-around\” from the guys felt rather sudden. I wished there could have been more development to explain their change of heart, but hey, it\’s romance. Sometimes, the paranormal aspect was confusing, but it intrigued me. It kept me engaged, and the action scenes were very enjoyable. Yet again, it ended on a cliffy. I love me a good cliffhanger, but two right in a row was a little annoying. I mean, you shouldn\’t have to rely on a cliffy to get readers to continue reading. The story is good enough to hold on to readers, so I was disappointed with the second cliffy of the series. At least this time, the twist somewhat surprised me. I love it when I can\’t call the twists, so good job on the author. Overall, entertaining and intriguing, another good performance from the strong FMC, and I was glad to get a bit of character development from the guys in respect to their personal backgrounds, etc. Annoyed at the cliffy, but, like the author wanted, I\’m going to purchase the next one. Not JUST because I want to know how it\’s resolved, but because it\’s a strong plot.

Oh my gosh, this was everything I expected and so much more! A wonderful book that captured my interest from the beginning. I dont know how Ill survive until Possessed is released!

What a crazy adventure this is. In Initiated this series takes an unexpected turn. We get more answers about the school and the boys and it\’s a huge mindflub. It develops at a slower pace, since it\’s all about building a relationship with her friends and former bullies. Not an easy feat for Hazel to do, since she has a hard time trusting them. She wants revenge, but at the same time discovers their softer sides as she grows to like them. But, there are a lot more players in the game who have nefarious plans for our Hazy and things will get worse before they get better. I couldn\’t put this book down.
